Does anybody have any success stories of making a GST rear wheel drive?
How much do you think it would cost?

Yes, I know it is supposedly near impossible to do and I know Buscher's is RWD.

If that tranny bolts up then what rear end would you use or would you need a custom one made?

its entirely possible, a local guy i know has done it to his gsx, all you need is a Vce and removal of the front axles

Oh lord.

Yes, its possible, but entirely not recommended and puts all the strain on your rear end and axles, etc.

2 ways to do it. First is with a VCE, its a Viscous Coupler Eliminator. It eliminates your stock viscous coupler and basically locks the car in 4x4 mode. You then can drop your t-case and driveshaft and be FWD. Or you can remove the front axles, and pop in some dummy axle cups so fluid doesn't leak out and be RWD.

Second way is to install a welded center differential. Basically does the same as a VCE.

Yea, wouldn't that pretty much just tear up the tranny in no time? I mean, I'm not one to talk 'cause I'm an abusive prick to my cars... but if you really wanted to drift it right, couldn't you just get the motor remounted laterally in the engine bay and run like an rx-7 tranny? I heard some of those bolt up to our motors, or something similiar to it. Then it'd be a little more practical for drifting. Probably pretty costly though.

I'd probably save the headache and go grab a 240sx or something. That's just me though.

If you have the money you could talk to Shep about building you a RWD transmission. He did the RWD tranny for the red evo in F&F: Tokyo Drift. However, the price to do so wouldn't be worth it.

some guy did this to his 3S. funny thing is, his car was slower after welding the diff. imo, waste of time.
