A few months ago I won a gift certificate for $500 off on any Exhaust Package at DJ Motorsports Winterfest Carshow here on Oahu. :hellyeah:

I've held onto this Gift Certificate for in hopes that one day I would have an awesome system on a GSX. Well now I have the GSX, but never really researched a decent system for the car LOL:shhh:

I dont want it to sound like total s*it. I hate raspy s*it sounding exhaust systems. My GS had a really low rumble, kind of muscle sound to it, never high pitched. That system consisted of the ebay header and downpipe w/flex pipe section, stock cat back to a Borla performance muffler.

The GSX obvisously needs something alot bigger but I want something in the future I wont have to upgrade and at the same time meet my needs and wants.

Is there a rally exhaust that can meet my wants?

$500 off any exhaust package and they pay the shipping! I gota jump on this one. I'll be running a 14B turbocharger w/a knockoff tubular manifold. Currently the stock exhaust system is on the car.

Open to any suggestions!

It will have to be a one-off since no-one (in their right mind) rallies a 2G. Two words, dude: suspension travel.

Now they do mendrel bending of pipe so they can fab up a custom exhaust. The $500 from the answers they gave me can be installation and the cost of materials or installation OR ordering a system and them installing. Either way I'm getting a free or significantly reduced cost system.

They can get anything, if they dont have it on hand they will ship it in.

really? A 1000 dollar exhaust system. ill look up some pictures and see. I wish there were better sound clips online
 
Well the full turbo back setup is $1000. A bit overpriced, but it DID sound great. I miss that exhaust.

It's a great sound, and is great in increasing spool time.
Only thing I would even think about trading it in for is a Greddy PE

Greddy PE. I'll have to look into that one as well. I'm almost sold on the Apexi N1 Catback system. i need to find a soundclip fast so I can decide fully and let these guys know what system I want.


I really like this one, but its a combination of two brands. might cost more eventually but the sound is decent as heck

Whether it's your "baby" isn't the issue. I have a pristine Evo X and I take long-cuts to drive on dirt and gravel whenever possible. The issue is the lack of suspension travel on a 2G.

Or did I say that already?
 
Custom made with a Magnaflow muffler. Amazing sound and won't show off with an oval twin outlet muffler as it'll appear stock.

I absolutly love the idea of that. Keeping the stock look and getting the no showy sound and awesome performance the car deserves. Kinda like the Borla I had on my GS, it was extremely low profile.:shhh:

I called them and they gave me the run around at first but ultimately told me I have to bring it in for the exhaust guy to look at it.:notgood:

I gotta ask one question.When The F did you drop the blue accented n/t and get a gsx?

Right around the time I found out what "Epic Meal Time" was... cause I'm f***ing smart! No seriously where you been at! I got one last week, I'm doing a full restoration of the exterior, lots of PMs and repairs, then a small buildup. :thumb:

I found out btw that Dual N1 is on a 240sx... the possibility that it COULD work is there but, it problably wouldnt sound the same. Back to the Apexi N1 being my top choice in this. I just dont like that rough idle sound. Alot of these Ebay cat back systems dont sound too bad, but I dunno about ebay for exhaust parts anymore... alot of shoty workmenship in them.:notgood:
 
I have 3" SS from the turbo back to a Dynomax muffler, no cat. It's a nice mellow sound that makes a little noise when you get on it. It's deep enough that my V8 friends can accept it as "legit". I haven't had anyone say anything other than good things about it.

And no, I don't have any good sound clips of it. The mic on my camera doesn't do it justice.

I don't think ill ever go catless on an exhaust system. I'm really digging apexi right now LOL unless someone has some soundclips that can outdo those apexi clips I found I think this might be done
 
I dont have any real sounds clips of my car, but my exhaust is a 3 inch megan racing full turbo back. It sounds good. Not too loud driving, but when you get on it, it opens up. I also havent any issues while running my 16g on it. Might wanna check that out. Not sure. Exhaust to some is just preference.
 
All you need to stage-rally is a catalytic converter... You'll save a heap not using a muffler :3

I never considered that, its a very interesting idea. I could eliminate the muffler and use straight pipe.

But I've seen straight pipe cars and heard them too... its not pretty.
 
I didn't notice anyone mention the Thermal R&D catback?
