questions on head build

So I have a few questions. I'm bringing my head to have the seats redone and new guides put in and have it all assembled. My question is for starters I have no experience with measurement and clearances. The guy at machine shop said that he has built many 4g63 heads (apparently he's done machine work for STM) but I would like to go in there with all the numbers that I can. Its a 1g Turbo head with Hks 264/272 cams, crower springs with titanium retainers, 3g lifers, stock rockers. I'm going to be using STD size SS engbldr valves and bronze guides. Also how can I find specs on my cams. He said he needed lift duration and asked about a "cam card"?

HKS 264 Intake
Max Valve Lift - 10.3mm (0.4055")
Centerline at 0mm valve lift 105 deg
Intake Valve timing at 1mm (0.0394")
Valve opens at 2 deg BTDC
Valve closes at 28 deg ABDC
Valve Centerline 103 deg

HKS 272 Exhaust
Max Valve Lift - 9.8mm (0.3858")
Centerline at 0mm valve lift 111 deg
Exhaust Valve timing at 1mm (0.0394")
Valve opens at 36 deg BBDC
Vavle closes at 2 deg ATDC

Since he has built heads for STM, then he should be able to quote the specs needed to build a head... with the cam card all he needs is the lift spec so he can check the springs for coil bind at full lift.

Yea that sounds like what he was saying. But I didn't understand what it ment. It was over the phone when I talked to him. All he said he needed was cam specs but I wanted to compare numbers that are known with his just for peace of mind.

You would shake your head at some the specs that are real world from the factory when put up against the published FSM manual... not even close on some.

As long as he knows the head, knows the specs and has the tooling to do it, the head should be fine
