Folks,

I have been disassembling a PTE 50 trim turbo that came on a recent purchase. I believe the backing plate is worn too much to be reused. There is play between the thrust collar and the backing plate. Is that normal? This is my first turbo rebuild, but it doesn't feel right to me.

I have all the components I need on their way, except a backing plate. (turbine/shaft, comp wheel, and rebuild kit)

The turbo has a 6.120" backing plate, and I see this ebay listing might be right, but can anyone help me figure out exactly which part I need for this PTE turbo? PTE has not responded to my inquiries.

Thank you sincerely for your time,

Will P.
