No, this was not laying around. They have their own line of upgraded Tcases, and the price is right.

Do they sell upgraded tcases or is that one they had laying around?

They sell them. For something a lot like shep's 2500 tcase they do them for last time I checked like 1100 with the upgraded 300 outputshaft and yolk as seen in the picture. My ACPT driveshaft already has the bigger yolk so This is a no brainer for me. As a testiment to how strong they are Alex ran it in his 750whp laser for a while beat on the car ran 9's then sold it to Shawn from boost boys/girls (Toyotaturbo) and he ran it and made a lot of fast passes with the car and just rescently sold the t case STILL in good working condition to someone(wish it was me but oh well)

You have to jump on these when they have them available. When I called Dogbox regarding the Tcase, they had a list of guys already waiting for the new cases. I didn't plan on buying this now at this stage, but I had to get it while they had them in stock.

Yeah I hear that. My plan is to get the money set aside after a couple other things and then just call them and tell them I will drive there the same day they have one on site cash in hand and I"ll give them my core before hand too because I know they ask for one. They are only like a hour from me. Shame we can't get lucky like supra owners and just throw some stock stuff on and go fast. You could get a complete stock dsm drivetrain for like $600. That doesn't even buy you built axles ROFL

Superman Update

OK guys, just a quick update. I finally got my seat back. I ended up going with the smaller FX Pro. The seat fits great. I was swimming in the FX1 wide; the pro is just right. It is snug, but that is what I want. It may be too tight for a street car; but I think it should be good for racing. I will put it in the car this weekend. I am about ready to get the cage in. I just have to remove the windshield and make an appointment with JMF FAB. I am also thinking about going lexan glass all around. What do you guys think?

I would say go for it, since I believe Lexan is the lightest "window" material you can get. What thickness are you thinking of getting?

Bill

I am not sure. I will have to look into it. Less weight should equal less broken parts.

So will this seat clear stock door panel and console? I think am going to keep running them rather than completely strip the car out. Don't think need to do the last little bit of stripping it down to hit my goals.
Remember 10 pounds is 1/100th , 100 pounds is a 10th. But 10 hp is a tenth and 100 hp is 1 full second.
Easier to just make more power on these turbo engines or put some spray on top I think but hey whatever floats your boat. There are also think glass or speedglass options that are maybe better than lexan.

Hmmmm that seat looks like mines LOL

I was wondering. I could not understand how the FX1 wide fit in your car. The pro is perfect. It should fit fine. Also the seat brackets that I got did not fit the FX1 wide. They fit the pro perfectly.

Yeah I mean I had the clubman but the specs on the site showed them being about the same wdith and I was like getting this is here is like a monkey ####ing a football. The new shell has a better designed cage and the pro is what is going in seeing how I still have my brackets.

I believe this one will fit. The FX1 Wide hit the door panel in my car. However if you do not have a small waist you will not fit the pro. Don't go by you pants size. I thought I was a 40'', however, I am a actually 38-39''. The FX pro fits up to a 36 waist so it is a little snug; but I feel it is perfect for racing. It really holds you in the seat.

There is lighter stuff out there but the prefered method is called "speed glass", high quality stuff and doesn't scratch quite as easy as lexan and looks really nice.

The only problem with Lexan (Polycarbonate)/whatever else is it will no longer be a street car, so its all about what class you want to be in. In post rule books you will automatically be put in a pro class.

Thanks for the info. This will not be a street car. I will look into the speed glass. I am not worried about the class I will be put in. I am not trying to be a pro racer. I would rather carry less weight around and save some drivetrain parts.

If you wanted to save drivetrain parts you'd be going auto LOL. Losing a few lbs from the glass would be nice to improve a tenth or so in the 1/4 but it's not going to change the backlash from your shift transitions from the manual transmission.

I am hard headed I like to shift. I will just save my money for drivetrain parts

Once your car starts putting down some good numbers you might get the itch to enter into a few races at events and most of them will put you in the top dog category if you have lexan or speed glass. Just something to consider.

I have an auto... I shift it. Kevin has an auto... He shifts it too.. Only difference is the speed that the car shifts.:thumb:

I mentioned this earlier

Superman Update

Ok, I put the seat in the car today and it fits great. Everything was perfect, until I sat in it. The seating position is too high. I was almost hitting my head on the roof. Things would be tight with a helmet. Not a big deal. When I take the car to JMF, I will ask Jim to cut off the mounts (this is where all the extra height is coming from) and weld a new mount. This should be a simple fix. Other than that the seat is great. It clears everything. It is close to the E-brake, but it doesn't touch. Check out the pics.

This is the mounting bracket. Notice the height on the lower mount.
