Okay, as many of you know, Ive posted before about my problems and lack of knowledge (bogging in lower rpms, black smoke, untuned afc, idles high and inconsistent) Well I recently went up and took some pics, but I dont know if you will find them helpful or not. The pictures were taken from my from, so sorry about quality.

Anyway, I do have plans for the car. Im looking at upgrading to the Evo III 16g, 650cc injectors (if i keep the afc) or 750cc (if i get dsmlink), fp or back to stock exhaust manifold, AEM wideband, aeromotive fpr, and walbhro 255. Probably forgetting things, but like I said before, this is a DD for now and I am looking to get around 350hp. Throw in your suggestions! I need all the help I can get! :thumb:
 
Cant go wrong with a genuine Garrett.

There are used 35r's all over the place though for cheap if you really want that.

Get the whole kit or just the upper? Not up with the lingo so not sure everything its saying. I understand BLOW THRU one but im not sure what blow off i have on the car as of right now so as far as the flange goes i wouldnt know what to get or even a clue how to install the thing as of right now. I have a lot more reading to do.

Ok so your working with a T3/T4 turbo. If you plan on keeping the manifold you have, you need to look at those. It doesnt have an A/R on there?

So your going to want to ignore the FP link from earlier because they dont make that manifold in T3/T4 if you want to keep the turbo you have.
 

Yeah that turbo is crap man. DONT try turning the boost up. Bad things may happen. Look into a E316g and that manifold I showed you earlier. Its quite the reliable setup.

This is the turbo. Its about the cheapest new one you can find.
 
Im aware LOL, spool isnt bad though. Its kicks in a full boost around 3800 rpms. I THINK im at 10-12 psi right now, I never look at the boost gauge.

I do plan on getting the E316g and the fp mani. What all would I have to do/get to install it though? The fp mani, turbo, and just the install kit?

Thats all you need other than a J-pipe!

Wait on getting the manifold and turbo. FP is supposed to have a tax time sale soon and it might have the manifold/16g combo again like they did in their christmas sale. i got confirmation of the sale via their facebook page. you should add some of the vendors to get some outstanding deals.

Wrong. ExtremePSI does price matching. Any deal you find from another vendor, ExtremePSI will match or sell it for less.

See. Your manifold is flanged for the wastegate. You can interchange whenever you please. I would ditch that craptastic setup ASAP
 
The wastegate has some pipe on it that goes down and like connects to my exhaust. Welded in i think? And trust me, as soon as I have the funds...bye bye current setup hello e316g+fpmani.
 
Yes its so your wastegate is dumping to the atmosphere which is the correct thing to do.
 
Well you would be dumping to the atmosphere.. Its loud and EXTREMELY annoying after a while. I would honestly leave it how it is until you decide to change your setup. Thats about the only correctly done thing I've seen on the car so far haha
 
Haha I know...not to offend anyone or sound racist but the guy I bought it from was some cheap a$$ mexican. I say this because he was a prick after the deal went through. I actually didnt buy it, I traded my 01' mustang gt for it. Sorry if I broke some rules right there..
 
You came over to the good side. Trading a stang for a DSM. That makes me feel even better about helping you haha

A $120 eBay special. :D

You'll be surprised how much cleaner your engine bay will appear once you have a stock-appearing manifold and you ditch that bulky external wastegate which is 1/4" from your radiator.
