Okay, as many of you know, Ive posted before about my problems and lack of knowledge (bogging in lower rpms, black smoke, untuned afc, idles high and inconsistent) Well I recently went up and took some pics, but I dont know if you will find them helpful or not. The pictures were taken from my from, so sorry about quality.

Anyway, I do have plans for the car. Im looking at upgrading to the Evo III 16g, 650cc injectors (if i keep the afc) or 750cc (if i get dsmlink), fp or back to stock exhaust manifold, AEM wideband, aeromotive fpr, and walbhro 255. Probably forgetting things, but like I said before, this is a DD for now and I am looking to get around 350hp. Throw in your suggestions! I need all the help I can get! :thumb:

Yeah ill look into getting some heatwrap..but I listed my plans for the car up at the top and said i wanted to switch to an oem mani or an fp mani.

Do you see the picture I posted? The nub that I drew the lines to is the one that your BOV connects to

Sorry man i am the noob of noobs about these cars. Ive owned it for a week and the kid before knew and did nothing to keep this car running good. I will take pics next time.

But what im getting is that the bigger hose needs to be rerouted to the BOV?

Yes. There is only one hose thats big enough to fit on your BOV in that whole area.

Im sure i will ahve people laughing at me for this but i need to learn. What exactly is a UICP and i was told the BOV is already aftermarket. I really cant tell so

Well your in luck. Heres some schoolin for you.

UICP stands for Upper Intercooler Pipe. Its the hose/pipe that routes from your throttle body and intake manifold to your intecooler. Follow the yellow line on the picture.

And for your BOV, if its stock it will be the plastic piece of crap mounted on the stock intecooler pipe.

The problem I have is that if i get a new exhaust manifold, I wont have a wastegate. The one in now is custom made and is welded in the mani.

Its not welded. Its probably flanged. You can buy an FP manifold flanged for an external wastegate

Okay..link? Or is it just on forcedperformance.net. And ill take a pic and show you in a bit..just to make sure.

ya don't put money into that manifold. Just pick up the FP or stock one. What kind of wastegate is that? I would bet its ebay and probably not worth trying to make it work. But first you should fix the obvious problems to get the car running right.

But what I dont get is that he's saying his turbo is externally and internally wastegated? Im guessing the other guy just welded the flapper of the internal wastegate to run it externally?

Lol so......still no idea on kind of turbo it is? I tried reading it but all i see is "turbocharger" and some code or something that i cant even read, but im sure thats the key to finding out.

Man, that unwrapped manifold so close to the radiator hose would make me paranoid as hell.

Yea I was thinking that as well. That's a heavy burden you took on without a lot of DSM knowledge. That thing looks to be modified pretty heavily. Good luck my man!

If all it says is "turbocharger" on the housing, Its some piece of crap ebay turbo.

You bought one hella modded car man. Its gunna be a pain in the ass getting it running how its supposed to again. Looks like the previous owner did a hack job.

Try and get the numbers off of it and any other markings or names. If it just says Turbocharger, it could be an ebay knockoff.
