Okay, as many of you know, Ive posted before about my problems and lack of knowledge (bogging in lower rpms, black smoke, untuned afc, idles high and inconsistent) Well I recently went up and took some pics, but I dont know if you will find them helpful or not. The pictures were taken from my from, so sorry about quality.

Anyway, I do have plans for the car. Im looking at upgrading to the Evo III 16g, 650cc injectors (if i keep the afc) or 750cc (if i get dsmlink), fp or back to stock exhaust manifold, AEM wideband, aeromotive fpr, and walbhro 255. Probably forgetting things, but like I said before, this is a DD for now and I am looking to get around 350hp. Throw in your suggestions! I need all the help I can get! :thumb:

if your running stock ECU with an AFC, your Maf doesnt seem to be plugged in, in the pictures....

might want to try and fix that first....

thats why i took pictures of it. i dont know how to plug it in?..i dont see any plugs or anything for it.

and im pretty sure its eprom ecu, still need to check.

There should be a plug with a platic covering filled with wired somewhere below it. It plugs direectly in

Recirculate your bov and plug in your maf before anything and see if that helps.

JUST plugged in the MAS and made the biggest difference in the world. The idle went from 1300 rpms to 850-900 rpms. The car doesnt bog when I accelerate anymore either. But at idle its still running very lean it seems and then very rich when driving/accelerating.

BTW the MAS was hidden deep that why I couldnt find it, I had to move a bunch of wires.

Your welcome haha.

Haha I had to stretch it to make it fit. But thanks guys. Thats why I took a picture of it cause I know something had to be plugged in. But once again, do you guys have an idea on what kind of turbo that is?

Id say recirculate that BOV and then get back to us.

I am curious about this whole recirculate the bov thing too. Any kind of pictures showing how to do this?

I am also from South Bend, IN too but reside in Fort Wayne, IN. If you do sell the mani id be interested in it

Since its an hks you will have to use a custom hose.. Just route some radiatior pipe from the adapter at the end of the BOV to the nub sticking off your intake piping thats plugged.

This is what it will look like

I'm gonna have to take some pics sometime because i took apart my intake today and didnt see anything like this

Its that simple? Just take a hose and connect the bov to the nub on the intake pipe? Nothin else LOL?

And I personally think they guy I bought this from did this stuff on purpose to do somethin..? Cause when he first sent me a picture of the engine bay, the bov have that hose on it and the maf was plugged in. Then he sold it to me (I obviously never realized it) and the hose was gone and apparently the maf was unplugged.

Know why he did this?

Yes its that simple. Nothing else required other than some clamps.

And I honestly couldnt give you any valid reason the previous owner would have had the car like that.

Unless he planned on running a GM MAF.

I have two hoses off my intake. One going to the engine up by the valve cover and the other one went to the back of the engine. didnt check out where it ended though

Trust me, it makes me worry too. The car runs SUPER HOT the mani was red hot earlier today which im sure is not good at all.

Yes. Ones a vaccum line and the one that goes to your valve cover is to relieve the pressure in there.

And to the OP, investing in some heat wrap is a great idea for you. And watch for cracks in that manifold. Tubular manifolds arent made for daily driving.

I'd do something about it dude, as that thing might start melting it sooner or later. It's not a normal OEM hose, but it would have to be pretty damn thick to take all the heat coming off the manifold, especially considering it looks like there is only an inch or two separating the two. Yikes.

Ok so should i take the hose off for the pressure and put a little filter on it and use that open line for the BOV? Would that work?

Sorry to the OP too. Dont mean to take over the thread

Yes and No. You can do the oil relief filter yes. No you cannot route your BOV to that hole. You should have a larger one above that is intended for your BOV.
