OK this is really bad my clutch isnt messing up its the way it was installed. I dont even know how to start off, ok i got an XDT clutch as a present so i got it installed. The mechanic i think didnt do a good job. When i press the clutch all the way down it doesnt go into gear but when i let it go a little it goes in smoothly. I took it to a shop today and they lifted the car up, the tranny is leaking oil and they said the clutch wasnt installed right and there going to need to drop the tranny and redo everything and i got a quote of 600 dollars WTF.

Yea i bleed the clutch plenty of times. Yea i just talked to the guy he said to bring it back on monday.

The clutch fork 'finger' is supposed to go towards the passenger side when you push the clutch in. Bring it back and remind them that THEY screwed up. While you're in there, make sure you're getting a new OEM throw out bearing put in, not some generic crap.

What do you mean a generic crap?

Anything that isn't up to OEM specification (or better).

Think of shitty chinese copies of turbochargers that sell on eBay for 1/5th of the normal price. Those aren't good deals. They're suicide.

i was going to tell you that the throw out bearing is installed wrong or not functioning properly, but it seems everyone else here has already beat me to it. definitely take it to the shop that did it in the first place and do not pay them any more money.

Just for a faster job, go to the mitsu dealer monday before taking the car in and get an OEM throw out bearing. Also it sounds to me like the pivot ball and arm may be worn or broken, grab those up while you are at the mitsu dealer too. I think i paid 75 bucks or so for them last time i replaced them.

My clutch was working sometimes then going to the floor others and leaving me force shifint and starting in 1st gear to get home. The arm would move all over. Grab yours and wiggle it around, it shouldn't move hardly at all, if you can push it up and down it's shot big time. Heavy clutches destroy these aprts with time and abuse. Even if they aren't the problem make sure they are replaced when teh trans is out this time!!!!!!! Worth every penny believe me because if you dont' do it now, you'll be doing it in another year but not getting the tranny pullled under "warranty" so to speak ;)

Why is it that everywhere you go someone is F****g up your ride? you are just that lucky i guess or you are just bringing it to the wrong place. My mechanic changed my clutch, fork, throw out bearing, master cylinder, slave cylinder, put the stainless steel clutch line and added the Redline trans and transfer case fluids. He only charged me 150 bucks...and like i told you, this guy is good...He is the only one that is allow to touch my car. Text me if you want his info...i will go with you if you want. STOP BRINGING YOUR CAR TO THESE FOOLS from Lawrence...THEY are back-yard mechanics. :notgood:

Have you checked the free play of your clutch pedal? Many times we forget to check the entire clutch system that's included in the interior of the car not just under the car.

Do they have them in stock or do i have to wait a day or so?

My mitsu dealer sucks and they've always had them in stock when i called (only ever bought 2 of them though) but the throw out bearing should definitely be in stock.

Is the arm the same thing as the fork?

Is the arm the same thing as the fork?

Yes! when replacing your clutch you might also want to put in a New fork (Arm), master cylinder, slave cylinder, throwout bearing, i will also change the bushing on the trans cable and replace them with this EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Shifter Cable Stiffeners Bushing Kit: Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99 And also i will also change the rubber hose with the s.s lines...for better feel and response.
