Due to some answers in another thread I got curious about how the majority of people are doing with their rod and/or main bearings.

QUESTION: Do you still have your original bottom end bearings?
If YES please state your current mileage.
If NO please state the mileage at which the bearing went out.
Thanks.

EDIT: If crankwalk was the reason please state that in your reply. Thanks.
I'm most interested in early 1g 6bolts but was also like to see whats up with the later ones and 7bolts as well.

nope... I was at 87k when it spun a rod bearing. No crankwalk, it just decided to go.

My have been replaced. New motor had about 15k miles and developed a rod knock. Dropped pan changed rods and mains. Being doing fine a for over a year now.

Yes on my 99 gst spyder with 145,000 miles
Yes on my 90 talon tsi 165,000 miles
No on my 92 10,000 on rebuild
No on my 96 gst spyder brand 6 bolt motor waiting for install

The main and rod bearings on my 7 bolt were like new when replaced in the stroker project after 183,000 miles bathed in Mobil one. The balance shaft bearings were heavily worn.

139k miles on stock 6bolt bottom end
Upper engine rebuild with 106K miles
170psi compression in every cylinder!

Spat out the rear balance shaft bearing with 113k miles, eliminated balance shafts and buttoned everything back together and still going strong (thanks for the good advice buck!!!)

91 Talon TSi AWD 156K original bearings i think. runns great head redone (performance shop foul up)
91 Laser RS 86K replaced once already (oil plug not tightened enough by shop) going for the 2nd as a rod bearing let loose (###### due to not being replaced when oil drained out or due to old oil as it was not changed after the car sat for 2-3 years :( )
