Since I bought my car used, I'm always curious as to how many DSM'ers out there were lucky enough to be original owners. So, here's my poll:

How long did you own your car before you began modifications?

1. I am the 4th owner of the car, first owner used it as a company car and sold it, then another owner owned it in michigan, he moved to utah where my ex-friend picked up. A year later I bought it.

2. It was about a year before I did any mods, too busy fixing the damage to the car.

3. Intake Pipe, Fuel Pump, 14b turbo, supa smic

4. 300whp, then I am done I don't want to make the car too fast.

Yes im the Orig Ower,, bought it new in oct , 1998
first mods were intake/exhaust/i-c piping
i didnt REALLY start messing with stuff until lthe warrenty ran out.

about a month put the intake on
intake only modification...spent all the money on the car and work that needed to be done timing belt, water pump, ball joints, tie rods...other than that the car was and still is in perfect condition...nothin better then gettin a lil red sports car from a 45 year old lady that babied it and has the receits in chron. order from when she had work done to it...
final goals-want to get the most mods off of stock t25 and possibly upgrade to evo 16g sometime when i get money

1st owner was my aunt out in California. Cool old lady, she now drives a souped up Integra (non-VTEC 4dr) ...yea I know it's not a DSM but still...how many old ladies do you know who drive souped up rides.

2nd owner here. I bought mine from a Ford dealership in northern NJ. Apparently the first owner thought it would be fun to bend all four stock rims by smacking every curb in sight. Glad those things are gone...

I bought the car in 1998 and didn't make any changes until 2004. Aside of wheels and tires, my first three were an AEM CAI, OBX-R header and a cat back exhaust. Hmmm, come to think of it, those are my only mods.

As far as final goals, I'm really not sure. I'd love to fix a few small dings and paint it in the next few years. I'll likely add a UDP, Cam Gears, drop it an inch and do some interior work like new seats, but I don't have any illusions about making major horsepower. I think I'd really like to be able to enjoy the car for the next 15-20 years. Come to think of it, that's a pretty decent goal.

1st, final, only owner of my 98 GSX - my son would differ with me - he's scheming to be the 2nd/final owner - time will tell.

Mods: Only wheels to date - a forced mod at that - I dented the originals all to @$#%!!

when I got the title I started building it
1. 15k in stereo
2. suspention
3.custom cold intake when it was a 2.4 auto car

almsot done with my goals.
swaped from 2.4 auto when new. Now 6bolt,5 speed, awd
Just putting together a new full race motor for it so I can run 30psi all day every day (when I drive it )

2nd here. Mods on the car when bought, droped 1.6, camber kits all the way around. Kyb-agxs all four corners and AMR rims.

I bought my 98 GSX brand new. It had 20 miles it its odometer when I first got it and now it has 63K miles.

I got it a K&N FIPK and strut bars 6 months into ownership of the car. Not until it was 5 yers old did I add more to it - a Greddy BOV, Gram Lights wheels (18s) and a Profrc b Spec 2 EBC.

My goal for this car is to trounce my C5 (which will be blown with a Magnuson S/C).
