I have been searching for info on changing my clutch master clyinder on a 1g Talon tsi awd and have not seen anything on it. I went to pep boys and they became very puzzled and actually gave upWTF and did not really know what to do. This was very:tease: funny to me because they claimed it was extremely difficult to remove the old one. I asked a few questions and they said that there is a pin that has to be removed and put back in. Plus they were afraid to remove the big spring there thinking it was under this big amount of pressure and it would be almost impossible to put back. They really seemed puzzled and not confident of what to do. I looked under the dash and saw what they were complaining about. The pin could be felt but you could not really see it enough plus you would need to put it back properly. But I looked up and saw that the spring was really what was keeping things at a stand still:banghead: since the pedal being under pressure was keeping us from being able to see the pin. Pushing the clutch pedal didn't help much and was tiresome. There was 1 or 2 bolts right there and it looked like if you remove the bolt you literally could move the spring out of the way. I could be wrong but removing the spring looked:aha: logical. The guy was too scared to do it saying there has to be another way. He wanted another guy (that was not there) to look at it but the guy would not be there until this week(that didn't help me today)

I changed that out when i did my clutch not too long ago. Just wanted everything as fresh as it could be. Is the car still drivable at this point? If so ill be more then willing to help you out. Ive got a garage. What I did will changing mine was undo the master from the firewall first. Then unscrew the rod from the connecting end link. saves time with the pulling the pin. Thread the new one on and then bolt back to the firewall. Then you can adjust the rod from their. Bleeding the slaves are a pain. Cant get a wrench up in their. So ive got a 10mm socket with a hole drilled in it that i use on a quick change rachet.

Wow these are the people your trusting to work on your car? Do yourself a favor and buy a repair manual and do some reading (preferably on the john) I guarantee in 10mins you will have enough confidence to tackle this on your own.

I think someone should drop a dsm manual off at every pepboys(just kidding) I will look into this a tad more but you guys are right it looks easy to do and the pep boys guy was just scared and confused
