Good evening all,

Im currently running new brake lines for a non-abs conversion, and Ive gotten to the point where I need to reinstall both brake and clutch master cylinders. Do I need to replace the brake master cylinder with a non-abs version? I got to thinking, before reinstalling them and finding a problem, should I go ahead and rebuild both? Both are original to the car with 80k ish miles on them, but theyve sat for a solid 20 years.

Alternatively, I can reinstall, fill with fluid, and test for leaks. If a leak develops later, they seem easy enough to get to.

The approach Ive taken with moving mechanical things has been to rebuild them without thinking since I have the car apart.

I'm not sure there is a non abs master. Proportion valve if memory serves.

Ok, I wasnt sure about the master cylinder - Rockauto showed one for each Eclipse model, but some forum posts mentioned they were all the same. Already have the proportion valve.

Ended up reinstalling both - if one leaks or needs to be replaced, Ill just handle it later. Thanks!
