Hi all,

with all the problems I'm having, I'm thinking to just do a short block revision..
I have very little idea of all the parts that I will need... can you advise me on this?

- bore and flatten the block in a shop (bore size?)
- crankshaft (use the stock one I have? 6 bolt)
- beam rods
- pistons
- main caps
- main rod bearings
- oilpump
- waterpump
- balance shaft elimination
- timing belt + pulleys

There are so many brands to choose from. When I'm ready with the build of my car I want to be somewhere in the 350-400pk range. So I don't need to be buying expensive premium stuff that can handle 600pk+.
I already had a head revision some 6 months ago.

All advice is really appreciated.

Thank you!

- bore and flatten the block in a shop (bore size?) Sound like bore the block and deck the HG surface, That is good

- crankshaft (use the stock one I have? 6 bolt) Yes if it is in good shape, removethe oil galley balls in the crank, clean, then tap and plug.

- beam rods, A set of H beam rods, not a got to have part for a 400hp build, but nice to have.

- pistons, if you go H beam rods, then you need forged pistons to match the bore of the block.

- main caps <<<<< Must be from the block the factory installed them on, if not, the block will need align honed.

- main rod bearings, If the crank was ground you will need the proper sized bearings.

- oilpump_ If it is damaged, if not clean and rebuild.

- waterpump, yes, good time to change it

- balance shaft elimination, Yes, make sure you get the Mitsu OE grooved stubby shaft

- timing belt + pulleys, Mitsu OE, belt, pulleys and HYD tenstioner

Gasket set, and a decent HG, OE composite or Felpro 9627PT will do, along with a set of ARP head studs.
