2G Panic/Car Alarm goes off any time I open my door

I took the Horn Fuse box out of my "1997 GST Eclipse" (So I wouldn't wake up my neighbors), but the car alarm is still going off, because my headlights are still flashing just not the horn, because I took the fuse out. Putting the car keys in the ignition doesn't turn it off, neither does putting the key in the door work. I even tried using my key fob, and nothing please help as this is very stressful for me. Car does have an after market push to start/key fob.

Just bought this car about 3 weeks ago, and it just started going off as of 03/01/2022.

Our cars are all 25 years old now and most people sell when a car gets problems they can't figure out how to solve. So just about any 'new' Eclipse/Talon is gonna require patience and troubleshooting.

My '95 GS-T arrived in September with a 76-entry list of troubles. It was perfectly driveable ... sort of. It's down to around 15-20 now.

My theft alarm problem was about like yours except that putting the key back in the lock and opening the door again, turned it off. The trouble was the operating rod for the inside driver's door handle was gummed up so it didn't move far enough to operate the switches correctly. But if you can't turn the alarm off by turning the key again, that is likely not your problem.

The theft alarm system is somewhat complex. First thing I'd check is whether the electric door locks work correctly when the alarm is not going off -- should quit after 3 minutes.

1. With both doors closed but unlocked insert the key in the driver's door lock and rotate it forward (counterclockwise), back to center and remove. A green light should come on on the dash indicating that the alarm system is 'armed.' Try the right front door: It should now be locked.

2. Insert the key in the driver's door again. Rotate it to the rear (clockwise) and back to center. Without opening the door go around to the passenger door and check that it is still locked.

(You've unlocked the driver's door now and should have disarmed the theft alarm. If I understand correctly this what's not working right: If you open the door now, your headlights will start flashing, right? But finish this test first ...)

3. Put the key in the driver's door lock again and turn to the rear again, then back to center. Check that the passenger door is now unlocked.

There are switches in the driver door lock mechanism plus some other parts in other places that let the electric door locks do the one-turn-unlock-driver-only, two-turn-unlock-both trick. These are also important to the theft alarm function. If the above all goes as expected then the trouble is most likely in the theft alarm system itself -- it has its own computer.
