2G Passenger door wont open!

Hello i have 1997 eclipse GS.
Im aware that the door handles occasionally break and I just replaced mine seeing everything was done.
I closed the door and now the door wont open from the inside or outside.
Any ideas on how I can get this door to open?

Yeah the rod that goes into the door latch mechanism gets bent and has slack in it. You need to insert a bolt in the rod where it attaches to the latch on the door

To get the door open just remove the interior door handle and pull the rod by hand. For correcting the rod gap I used a 8/32 machine screw with washer and doubled nuts to keep it tight.
