OK guys, I have a 1995 talon. Recently its had some problems, and I have dealt with them accordingly. Now this time this problem just cant be overlooked. My driverside door will not open! I dont know what to do? you have to go in through the passenger door and open the driver door, its only the exterior handle, the interior one works perfect? its all very strange but i can deal with this much longer, please! please! please! someone give me an idea of what i can do to fix it! thanks

Read the following thread. Post #3 gives a link to a site with some pictures. The search function is pretty useful on this site if you figure out its quirks.:thumb:

Also, there is a tech article on this. It's linked in the above thread in post #5.

Next time you have the door open, pull on the outside handle and see if you hear the mechanism moving. If not, I'd just pull the door apart and make sure the handle mechanism is still attached to the actuator arm.

OK well I quit, i cannot reach that damn bolt to get the handle out. suggestions?

What kind of tool are you using to get at it, a socket and wratchet or a wrench?
The way it's designed to come apart is to take the window and track out then you can get straight to the bolt with socket and extension. But thats if you're brave enough to pull the window out. If you follow the links to the articles and follow the pictures you should be able to get to it.

Both times I did mine (1 for actuator and 1 for door handle), I left the window in, but took out the bolts holding the track in place so I can move it out of the way. Then I was able to stick my hand up there and get an open ended wrench on the nut and twist it loose.
