Passenger Door Wont Open

I bought my car with passenger door handle broken off so I bought a pair of new ones online and replaced it today. After replacing the door handle it doesn't open the door like you have to pull on the handle like 50 times for it to just crack the door open like an inch which it still wont open from there. The push rod that goes from the actuator to the handle is connected so I have no idea what's going on can someone help me
