Door latch is stuck closed

Was working on my car some today and had my drivers side door open, went to close it once I was done, and it wouldn't shut. So I looked at the latch eventually and it's stuck in the closed position. It won't go back up, I can't figure out why..

So now I can't drive it till I can shut my door!

Use screwdriver to pry on the latch some while you use the handle to release it.

Lube the crap out of it and take a screwdriver to pry on it like goon said. My latch has done this plenty of times. Just have to make sure they don't get dry.

I'll have to try that again, I did both of those. I was probably too scared to pry it too much.

I was able to pry it up. But the latch's spring doesn't pull it up anymore.

Is it possible the spring came off? I don't even know what to look for in there to see how to get it pull the latch back up. I have to push it up by hand everytime I want to close the door.

this happened to me in another car just pull on the handle from the inside while you pry it up with a screwdriver or finger
