Found this in my door, i know what it's for but not where it goes.

I didnt really know where else to post this so into the newby forums it goes.

Hey i was removing my blown speakers and remembered i heard rattling in there so i decided to fish what ever it was.

Now, my driver side window has been having issues rolling up too far for the past few months, and catching on the weather stripping when i close the door. I know the piece i found is related to this issue, but i have no idea where it goes in the window assembily.

Is the white one made from teflon/delrin? I'm having a hard time recalling, but it looks like the glass guide that is closest to the hinges of the door. Anyone else?

I haven't had a mitsu door apart in a long time but its defiantly some kind of window guide. I would really like to take care of my window rattle too but it looks like a real B to work in there

They are for the windows. Its basically a shim to keep from rattling around. When you look inside, follow the bottom edge or the rear of the window edge closest to door latch. Look for a dust line on the window itself. The dust line will show where it fits.

Best thing is long extensions, magnet sockets and a light. Get the inner door piece off and pull the dust plastic back. Take pics of how it looks before you tear it apart. I take the doors off and lay them on a shop stand. Makes it easier for removing the glass.

Crap i didn't think I'd need to take the whole door apart. I got as far as peaking in the plastic dust cover. The door metal pieces separate right? Or no?
The pieces in the pic are just hard plastic.

The door shell does not come apart.

I will try to get to my door on my car and show you what I mean. Removing the trim panel and plastic will reveal holes in the inner door shell that you can use long extensions to reach the regulator, motor, rails, etc. Since the doors on the 2g dont use an upper arch, the window needs to be really strong in its rails. Those plastic mounts you found are pretty important in making sure the window doesnt slam into the lower rail and shatter.


Unfortunately the snow isnt helping me accomplish this.

Well the window has no problems going up ir down and it doesn't move back and fourth, it rolls up too far.

Luckily i do have to take my doors apart VERY soon. I can make a quick step-by-step. It wont be tomorrow, but probably by April 13th.

If the window is rolling up too far, then its not sitting properly against the weather stripping even if you put it down far enough to clear the trim. Those tabs must limit the travel for that reason. The sooner i can get to my car, the sooner i can help.

The white piece actually bolts through the window and slides into a felt piece when fully rolled up. It keeps the window from going up too far.

Any idea where abouts in the door cavity it belongs phunny? I have stuck my hand behind the plastic sheeting and felt around but i didn't find anything. How would i go about fixing it?

Yup, roll the window all the way down and you can see where it bolts on. There will be one in the front and one in the back.

Do you know the bolt size incase it's lost ? What about the black piece
