Today i did a little tune up on my non turbo 1995 eclipse, i changed both its engine oil and filter, changed its pcv value, its spark plugs and wires and cleaned some hoses here and there. I did all this because i recently bought the car and went and did a smog and it failed . And they recommended to do its tune up to lower the numbers, but i still dont feel like it would pass... what else should i do?? Should i change both its oxygen sensors? Change its EGR valve?? Check for any kind of air leaks?? but i have no clue how to do that. Should i run some seafoam?? Get 91 octane?
Well if anyone has any suggestions that would be great :) This is my first car ever and im only 17 so im still learning soo sorry if i seem like a big noob.
Ohhhh and today when i changed the fourth spark plug, i noticed that engine oil was on it... is that bad??? Ohh after the tune up, the speedometer doesnt work anymore, is it the VSS?? haha sorry for all the questions, im just trying to learn my way through this car.

Here are the readings to the smog check, sorry for the crappy pics.

Ok great, tomorrow morning ill go to a couple shops near by and see if i can some readings. Ill post tomorrow what codes i get and what you guys recommend i do and if it helps passing smog or not. :)

Thanks for the link, ill try this in a bit and see if it works for my 2g. hopefully it does, itll save me some time tomorrow :p

Ok guys i double and tripled check the check engine blinks and i think i got codes 12, 21 and 55 :hmm: ill see what the possiblities are..

Wait there arent codes 12 or 55  but code 21 is oxygen sensor. That could be something i could replace for smog..

Ok so i got to plug it in to a scanner today and i only got one code, the o2 sensor although it something like oxygen sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2 or something like that... Whats that mean? are both oxygen sensors bad?

Yes the sensor is bad, its gonna be the one after your CAT. Also i noticed in one of your previous post that you gapped the spark plugs at .028? On a 420a , tgey should be gapped at .045

ohh ok, ill buy both just too have a higher chance of lowering my emissions. And are they? oh shoot, ill gap them right tomorrow morning then, thanks.

Also today at the shop, one of the mechanics connected a one of those vacuum pressure reading guages that alows you to apply pressure to the EGR, and when he did that and ran the car and applied pressure, the engine started running bad and idling bad about to die but it didnt. He said it was suppost to die if the EGR was good. Is that whats suppost to happen? he said just clean it and it should be fine.
