oil pump gone bad?

allright, going down the highway today, at about 100, and all the sudden the car dies, i look behind me, tons of smoke, so i pull over, look behind me and i had a trail of oil, so i look under my car, and i have oil leaking all over around where the oil filter screws on, so i tried to tighten it, and the round part around it that it screws on to was turning too, so i tried tightening it, and then went to start my car, bad metal on metal noise, my friend said it was coming around the turbo area, so whats everybody's guess, oil pump went bad, leaked too much oil and crapped out my new turbo??? thats kinda what i'm thinking, but not hoping. thanks.

probably its your oil/water cooler, the screw holding the cooler to the housing was probably loose which the oil filter became loose which cause your oil to leak which then lead to all of your problems. Your oil pump is probably still ok but lack of oil can do really mean things to metal especially to a new turbo and an engine

Sure sounds like the oil cooler bolt failed and you dumped all your oil.

Please do not crank ur motor again, especially with no oil in it.

well, don't have to worry about it, got diagnosed with crankwalk, and a bad rod bearing now...so looks like maybe its time to take it to ams for a 2.4l.... :thumbdown
