2G Oil leak at high boost from cap

Asking for a friend. Has a 95' Talon Tsi awd 5 speed with a 6 bolt in it. At high boost it is leaking oil from the filler cap. We suspect that his rings have gone bad. Anyone else experience this problem?

Mmm, it probably just means he needs a new cap o-ring. This is a very common problem.

Has his dipstick popped out yet? It sounds like a sign of excess crankcase pressure, but lets hope Vegas is correct!!!

If it's not the caps fault check the pcv valve and make sure it's closing under boost.

I doubled up the gasket on mine and it hasn't leaked since. Also check the PCV valve is working properly like stated previously.

If a new cap gasket doesn't fix it, it could also be a small crack that you don't even see in the valve cover. I had to replace my valve cover for that reason. But you would want to do a compression check before doing anything like that.

Leakdown test is more important than a compression test on this one.

Bend the little tabs on the inside to give a more secure seal.
