I'm trying to just replace this car to its stock specs, its been about 9 months in the making and I'm finally on the last leg of repairs here... Which brings me to my problem-- the stock oil cooler unit on my 91 TSi FWD has 2 ports for coolant hoses to connect to (soft lines, not hard lines) the problem is, I can't figure out where the hoses are supposed to go.
I think, from reading around the forum and getting a few ideas, one of the ports is supposed to line to the thermostat housing, and I think its the top port.
I know this is kind of a crappy description and all, but I am at school currently and dont have access to taking pictures of the part right now... but for those of you who know the oil cooler unit that attaches to the oil filter bracket and the 2 coolant openings im talking about, there's a piece on the top and a piece on the bottom of this cooler to attach coolant hoses. I think the top hose is supposed to be connected with the hose on the thermostat housing, but I dont know if that's right and also don't know what the bottom one goes to.
Any help is much appreciated!
