Oem pump on a topline face(Front) plate

I just bought a mitsu pump without the front plate and I already have a topline complete pump and faceplate. Just wondering if it would be safe to take the topline pump off and use the oem pump on the topline plate?

By pump I mean oil pump also.

I've never known this to be done, but I imagine the pumps are essentially the same. Obviously, it would be much better to install a complete Mitsu pump. Just triple check to make sure it spins freely without any extra play.

No. Do NOT do this. They are manufactured by different places, which means different clearances and tolerances. I have always been under the impression the they are matched pieces. Meaning, I wouldn't even use the front half of one OEM case with the rear half of another OEM case. I feel like it's just asking for trouble.

Well this is what I was thinking. Now I have a new oem pump without a front case fml!

I'm going to use a micrometer and make sure all the oil ports are the same size as an oem plate I'm going to use the topline plate with the oem pump. I think it will be fine as long as the two are an exact match to an oem plate.

I asked the question before, and i was under the assumption you could use the case just replace the gears.

I put OEM mitsu gears in a Hyundai/Kia front case and its still running strong. Knock on wood...
