2G Oem or Felpro Valve Cover Gasket

Is the oem valve cover gasket any better than the felpro gasket? Price is double, what do you guys think?

I've never had a problem with the felpro gaskets. Most valve cover issues are install error, including cracking them.

Using a Felpro right now and it has held up fine. Make sure you get the spark plug hole gaskets and the half moon piece too.

I have noticed that the cheap eBay gaskets get really hard within a year, and can leak.

Ivw never had a leak with my Felpro vc gasket. Actually pulled the vc to replace lifters and just wiped the head surface and gasket surface with acetone and tightened the bolts from the inside out in four stages and still no leaks for about two years now. Dont ever use the cheap ones that come in the Ebay engine kits though, theyre made of inferior rubber compounds and get hard and leak fairly quickly. Most people with leaks are just not installing it correctly.

I've been using a felpro one no problem. But yes, make sure you have the half moon replaced and installed correctly.

Felpro and OEM valve cover gaskets both work as expected. I've used both and I can't think of any reason one is better than the other. So buy whichever is cheaper.

Because its just a few rubber seals, I don't think it really matters, get whichever is more convenient for you, I used the felpro vc and spark plug tunnel gaskets, and I had no issues, just be really careful when installing the valve cover bolts.

I used a cheap valvegrind kit from ebay and the crap V/c gasket leaked right away. It was just too small. Went to felpro gasket set and have had no problems since.

If not OE, then Felpro (IMO) is the next best option

I've been using the felpro gasket for 30,000 miles with no leaks.

But I can't stress enough get a torque wrench for inch pounds. Preferably one where the target torque value is in the middle of the torque wrench's range so it will be the most accurate.

If you torque it too hard you will crack your valve cover or strip shit. If you don't torque it enough you will have a huge f***ing boost leak.

If your valve cover is a "boost leak", you have greater problems than the VC gasket and it's torque value...

Felpro, i have a ebay one now cheap two years and it still works fine.
