- Background
- I traded this car for my old koni-equipped e36 325is, knowing I would have to put a lot of effort into making this car transcend the stigma of a dsm, specifically trailer trash 1gs. So far, the car has put up a good list of struggles at me. It came with a pte61, which failed because the oil feet fitting at the cartridge was literally finger tight. The rear of the interior was thrown away for no reason, the headliner torn out, and a rewire kit so haggard you'd think it was an act of terrorism. Topping it off is some 1990s Compustar that routinely goes off by its own and kills the battery overnight, and is wired with the same malicious intent as the fuel pump.
It only has 68,500 on it, and it is unbelievably clean inside and out compared to any others I've seen. This includes my years as an nhra tech- even trailer queens I've seen look haggard compared to this one. The goal is to make it presentable and actually feel a sense of pride with it. If all else fails, I'd like to run low 11s once and sell it off.
