noob boost gauge question

im a noob and this was i just did my first mod which was instalilng an autometer boost gauge and a/f gauge, everything seemed to go good, boost gauge is reading correctly, i think the a/f gauge is also reading correctly but my idle dropped from 900-1000 rpms down to 400-500 rpms. i followed the instructions from this site for the boost gauge http://www.jumptronix.com/2g_go_faster/index.htm

and for the a/f i followed this

and i ran the power and ground wires to the cigarette lighter for both gauges.

also i dont really know how to read the a/f gauge correctly yet but it seems to be running borderline rich when im going a constant speed or idle and when i slow down it drops all the way lean

so im wondering if thats normal for a/f and why my idle dropped?

Probably a vacuum leak. When you tee'd the line for the boost gauge did you make sure everything was tight and not leaking? Check it out! Good luck!
