So I rebuilt a 4g63 6-bolt N/A engine out of a 91 Eclipse and swapped it into my 1990 Eagle Talon. Everything is in, but I cannot get it to start for the life of me. Key information here is that it will not start even with starting fluid. It will puff very sporadically, but never really fire to the point that it is turning on it's own force.
I've got spark on all four plugs. I've checked my sparkplug wire connections a dozen times (and they're new wires). My CAS will fire at will, although I don't know the exact timing it needs to be on. I tried fiddling with it while starting, but to no avail (including swapping it 180 degrees). I know I have fuel and I can hear the injectors moving (and even tried jumping the fuel check line anyway). I tried swapping both my two-wire sensors on the thermostat housing for ones on my old engine. The single-wire one is missing a connector, but still wired on. I checked to make sure the cams weren't off by 180 degrees--they're fine.
I pulled my spark plugs out, they're wet with starting fluid but they show that there has been no significant firing in the cylinders. They're still brand new NGKs that I gapped to .0044.
My only ideas right now are: compression test, fuel pressure check, and directly testing the fuel injectors. But that'll be tomorrow, I'm exhausted today.
Any ideas? This is blowing my mind.
Thanks in advance,

Well, I did a compression check. 60, 60, 60, 120 psi. All of that work... all of that money... and it's over because a machine shop didn't properly rebuild my head. This is a very, very bad day.
