i have DSMlink on my 95 talon witha a 6bolt and im wondering how the No Lift To Shift option works? do i jsut enable it hold down the pedal and shift? or lift off the gas and the revs hold at something? please let me know as i am curious and am contemplating trying it this weekend at the track, but it sounds a lil harsh. thanxs and keep:rocks:

^Does anybody else get a headache after reading that?

its suppose to be safer than wide-open-throttle shifting.

reason being is that the rpms are matched instead of having to be banged back down when you WOT shift. it also keeps a load on the motor which helps you stay in boost during shifts.

ill have to do more research once i get dsmlink and start to use it.

I have a dsmchip with keydiver but havent hooked up the wire yet to use it, and not sure how it will be on my stock old tranny, but I will give it a shot. I dont know what the nlts rev limiter is set at though, my top rev limiter was set at 8.5 and my launch rev limiter was set at a max of 4k since im fwd, so is 4k going to be the nlts limiter or is that completely seperate?

Guys,

I have a issue in which I'm hoping you'll can help. I currently have the clutch wire wired in and now when I mash the trhottle, at about 6k RPM's in 1st gear I get a nasty cut, only happens when NLTS is activated.

My limiters are:

launch Limit: 5250
NLTS : 5500
Rev Limit: 7500

Any ideas? I already checked, I'm not resting my foot on the clutch neither. Wiring of the cable seems proper as well.

Is there a way to adjust the speed where the stutterbox is active/deactivated?

Well I have only three limiters. Where the car is cutting off none of them are set to that RPM. The launch is set to deactivate at over 8mph. Then the stutterbox is only set to be at 5500 when the clutch is depressed. So only my rev limit is left and it's set to 7500.

Oh sorry, when you said it cuts out at 'about 6k rpm' I thought you meant it cuts out somewhere near 6k but maybe not exactly 6k.

I've seen other cars with dsmlink stutterbox having trouble like that. One guy had a bad speed sensor so link thought the car was still at a stop, so it cut off at the stutterbox rpm. Some of these cars are also putting out a lot of power, so they go through first gear very quickly.

My speed sensor is good and link reads the speed accurately. I'm not very fast but it could be a possibility that maybe link is a bit delayed in picking up speed perhaps?

By the way guys, I'm stunned! I knew the sensor was sensitive, but I didn't expect it to be as sensitive as I thought. I started a log and was testing to see how much I needed to press the clutch for the switch to activate. Well let's just say I think it can sense my foot, it switches with just proximity HAHAHAHAHA.

So yes, as much as I thought I wasn't resting my foot on it, that was the issue. NLTS is the most amazing feature I've used from DSM Link thus far!

Here is an EVO 8 I just did for a guy in Central America running a big laggy forward facing turbo on his bone stock 2.0L 4g63. Using Antilag launch control this car make 20psi on the line and holds boost between shifts with No Lift Shift.

Pictures and nice little write up on NLS and launch control tuning: http://brewedmotors.com/blog/tuning-secrets-no-lift-shift-antilag-launch-control.html
