New Pcv

Doing some maintenance on my car. I just got my new pcv. I blow on it and air just zips right through it. It's not oem mitsu. I'm guessing it's not normal. My original one I could barely blow air in. Do you remember if your new pcv did that?

Doesn't sound normal. Blow thru it and suck on it and you should be able to feel it go forward and back. Also try and shake it. It shouldn't be hollow though

Oh when i blow it I feel a lot of air rushing through it, example going to the valve cover. When I pressure it, same thing. When I shake it I feel something shaking in there!

If when you shake it, you hear something in there, than ya it should be good. As long as its not hallow like just regular fitting

Don't need to blow, but just shake it. It should rattle. If it rattles, it's okey.

That's the metering valve inside, that you hear rattling, that opens and closes on demand pertaining to the vacuum need of the motor.

For a turbo motor and under boost, the PCV valve closes to prevent back flow - why you have that line running from the rocker cover to the turbo intake to relieve the pressure built up in the head..

It should allow air to pass freely from the threaded end towards the hose nipple, but completely block air flow in the opposite direction up to at least a couple of psi past what you plan on running for boost...which it probably won't even if it's a brand new OEM one...which is all you should be using.

Shitty ebay one didn't work for nothing, 8 bucks. My boost is dropping like crazy. I just spent 30 buck on a oem mitsu one from stm. See how that one goes when it comes in next week. I probably will use a check valve as you guys mention.
If my OLD oem mitsu stock pcv can't even hold a boost leak test at 5 psi. The question is or does anyone know.... about what psi does a good 100% oem mitsu pcv closes??? No pressure at all, 1 psi, 2 psi???

Those Kynar check valves from US Plastics are the shit. I've used them for years now in the PCV line, brake booster, fuel tank vent, etc.

They are the most versatile $1.49 part you'll find.

I would order one from the dealer. Jnztuning might have it as well as extremepsi.
