Okay well I own a 98 GSX with 110,000 miles runs perfect and I wouldn't trade it for anything and yes it's an automatic :( still love it. Here are mods when I bought the car :D about half a year ago, Titanium valve springs, cams at 272, DNP headers and 14b turbo was rebuilt. Since then ive installed Injen intake with bigger filter along with Greddy Type RS BOV, Magna flow full exhaust, Manual Boost controller, Gauge POD, and had it painted redid alot of the inside added Million color under glow ( I know it doesn't matter just bragging haha). I can post pics if needed. But Ive been working and saving up and my 18th birthday is in a couple of weeks and Ill have around 2 grand.. Im planning on buyin 880cc injectors Walbro fuel pump and DSM Link. But what turbo setup should I go with?? Nothin crazy but im getting kinda serious with the modding all my cousins own new GTO's and Evo's and Iv'e been braggin about my GSX:ohdamn:. I drive it about 3 to 5 times a week not in rain and its kept in garage I also always run 93 gas on it. and heres a video of all the lights and system I put in.. Only a teenager i still like that fast and furious stuff.

Hey man, nothing wrong with that, although mostly the whole DSM community hates that including myself, at least you are open about it, kudos to you! :)

What's your goal with the car, what power do you want to make?

Nothing wrong with an auto. More consistant in the quarter mile and easier on the driveline... I would check to see if your ECU is a flashable ECU. You might not need DSMLink. Look into that first. Search "Ceddy" or "Ceddymods" on here. That should give you all the needed info. If you have E85 in your area look into running that. It's 105 octane so you can run more boost. But you need more fuel and 880's probably won't be enough unless you want to stick to a 16g, maybe a 20g sized turbo. Your going to want to get a front mount intercooler, a wideband, some ARP head studs. Before you start modding the car, make sure maintenance is done, do a compression test to make sure the engine is healthy. For the turbo, maybe look into an HX35 with a BEP housing or a 20g turbo. Also look into getting your torque converter restalled and maybe a shift kit. You might also be able to get your TCU flashed with 2 shifting maps. One for firmer shifts and one for cruising. Or do the "Blue wire mod" to it. Also with a fuel pump you need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if you go with a 255 pump.

A 14b isn't stock for your car (referring to your video) :D

I'm willing to bet you'll outgrow the underglow stuff in a few years. I remember when I was in highschool I gave serious thought to adding it to mine. Luckily the lack of money and a job prevented me from doing it :thumb:

An evo 3 16g should do you just fine with your power goals..Unless your planning on wanting more power soon down the road then you might just want to go 20g..And switch to e85 like stated before, that will get you closer to your goal quicker..

I'd go 20g. With that you can reach your goals and still have some room to grow.

Whats a slight step ahead of the EVO 16g like a little more expensive?

Could go with an 18g, but the evo3 is tried true and proven to make 400hp on the 4g63 with some good fuel and pushing the boost (25psi ish)

A little larger though, I would probably recommend an FP3052 (ball bearing GT3076R bolt on) or Green if you wanted to stay journal bearing.

I would say a TD05H 20g or the comparable FP 68HTA. I just bought a set up from FP the customer service is second to none. Your looking at spending around a little less than a grand there unless you get it ported through them, add about 100 bucks. If you are still looking for a little more the FP Green or TD06H 20g are good too as long as you are willing to spend the extra for an externally gated system which is the route I would go with those systems. Good luck!

I'd go with a TD05 20g. Maybe even a TD06 20g. Turbo lag will be less of a problem for you because you are auto (there's anit-lag for manuals I know). Shift kit, maybe restall the converter, and just sit at the light pressing the brake and gas building boost so when it goes green, you're gone.

I'd stick with the 05H 20G. Being an auto, the 06/06H turbine may be above the limit of getting any brake boost from the stock converter.

Both turbos offer the same compressor flow- the 06/06H just offers more turbine flow for excessive boost levels or allowing high compression fully-built drag engines to breathe better. On the street the only difference you'll notice between a 05H and 06/06H 20G is the lag, and that's not what he should be looking for.

Even if it's restalled? But yeah, I agree a TD05 20g would be the best choice.

dude clean car. a evo 16g would do great with a good tune
