Need help setting up Apexi safc2 for a 95 Talon TSi

My brother has a 95 Talon TSi, he has a safc2 but neither of us have any idea what we are doing. If you have any advice or know about a setup guide that would be great. One last thing, could the turbo boost be controlled by the safc2? The reason I ask is the turbo spools to 10PSi until ~5.6K RPM then the boost jumps to 17PSi.. Any ideas?

So do you have stock turbo?Do you have a wideband to tune the safc with?Sounds like spiking to 17psi.I would make sure you have supporting mods or turn the boost down alot.

Don't know about the wideband, my brother said the turbo was a twin-scroll replacement but its the same size as stock... He brought it up because his old evo would spool to 20PSi right at 2K rpm and stay there...

Weird I doubt you can pull 20psi at 2,000 rpms tho.

you need a boost gauge, manual boost controller, a datalogger, and a wideband with logging capabilities to get anywhere with tuning. If neither of you know what you are doing, return the boost to the stock level or even a bit less and don't beat on the car until you know more. If it's spiking to 17psi, don't floor it until you know what your doing and what mods are on the car. If the car does have a twin scroll setup, then it must have an aftermarket manifold and a turbo that flows more air than the stock T25. I would hope there are some supporting mods to go with it.

Read the instructions, get familiar with how the unit functions, and don't make any changes unless you have a wideband or way to log knock.

Do you have larger injectors?

Not unless you're way lean or way rich before 5500 and it's not allowing boost to be generated.
