Need Help Please

OK so i just got into these about a year ago first one is a 1995 tsi awd turbo talon has it for 4 months and oil pump went out so need a motor for that one.. next is a 92 gs eclipse but cant get it to run when i try and start it blows the main ing fuse befor that it would turn over but no spark ?? Anybody that could help please..


I would also like to know if a non turbo motor would go into the talon and will i have trouble putting a turbo onto that motor ?? Reall new to these cars and need all the help i can get thanks alot

It sounds like you have a short somewhere that is causing the fuse to blow, I would find hook up a volt meter to that fuse line and see what it pulls when the fuse pops, then trace it back to the culprit. As for your NT swap question, no. Unless you use a 1g NT 4g63. It can be done but not worth it. You'd be better hoff finding a good 6bolt and use 7bolt rods/pistons and a 2g head. That can net you big HP with little cash.

You are not going to be able to swap a 420a into a 4g....well you could but it would be completely assinine.

You should be looking for a motor from any turbo dsm. You can use the older style engines from the 1G DSM's called 6 bolts, or any 7 bolt (newer 1G and 2G). The "benefits" are that the 6 bolts don't suffer from the dreaded "crank walk" that all 7 bolt owners are deathly afraid of (although I've owned 6 and 7 bolts with good power and crank walked nothing, but they weren't stock bottom ends).

Do a search on 6 bolt swap, it should yield dozens of threads, as thousands of us have done it. There are how-to's, and even complete kits for the swap!

ok i need to know i this will work i found a 1992 6 blot motor alread been started with 6 bolt crank but have 7 bolt robs pistons and a head that has been worked over but needt finished guy asking 100 bucks for it ??

Sounds good to me but make sure that the rods are machined for the crank first. Other than that it sounds like a deal.
