Need help identifying what gen coil pack I’m using

Hey guys, I’m in the process of replacing my coil pack because I’m unable to start my 96 gsx with 6 bolt swap.

I ordered a 90 coil pack because that is the year of my motor. We did the swap a long time ago so I couldn’t remember exactly what coil pack I used.

Once I pulled the coil pack off, it looked different from the one I just bought. I originally thought that the pack was from my 96 motor but after looking at pics online it kind of looks like the 91-94 version. I’m not sure why i would have that version, so I want to get some verification before I buy another one.

Can anybody tell me based off the pictures what gen this coil pack is?

That's a 1G, '91-'94.

It should still work in a 2G car though. And you will need a '91-'94 or 2G coil pack for your car. A '90 unit would not directly connect to the 2G harness without modification.

1g coil, the bracket on the 2g is different

1990 was the only one non interchangable as it also contained an rpm signal for the tach

Things really get wacky when you start working on an 89 manufactured date 90 Galant gsx. 1990 is like the foot fetish of dsm work, the Galant makes it even murkier.

Did you invert the signal in EcmLink? Or what are you using to tune with?
