Okay, so I bought an HKS SSQV. I put in on my car with the correct adapters and what not...so here is the problem: I have an Injen intake with the BOV dump tube. However, I am currently venting my BOV to the atmosphere(which I know is a not to be done haha) because I bought a BOV recirculation tip and it isn't here yet so I just wanted to see how it sounded. But now, my car kinda bogs out sometimes when going from N > 1st and also the 'SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light is on..is it because that dump tube is open? PLEASE HELP!!

Haha okay, so you think that venting to the atmosphere with that intake might do it! My fitting should be here tomorrow so I will hopefully throw it on and see if that fixes it!

Correct, the bogging is most likely do to the atmospheric dump. I don't remember my car throwing a cel when I had my bov vented, but its been so long maybe it did.

just so im clean on this did you hook up the hks bov exacctly like the oem (minus recirc)? or are you sharing the boost signal with something else like a boost controller?
also did you cover the intake hole meanwhile?

im asking because i ran an khs non vented for a while and didnt have a problem with it.

^^ Running it open to atmosphere is hit or miss. Some people have ill effects some, and some it doesnt matter. Each car is a little different.

I ran my gredy type s open for a while, and the car was fine, never bogged or died on me. It is best however to recirculate the bov because it is how are cars were designed.

spawn87: Yes, it is hooked up exactly like the oem BOV minus the recirculation. And the hole is not covered

I am hoping that once I recirculate it, the engine light will go off

You need to cover the hole in your Injen right away. Under boost you will be sucking in lots of air through that hole that is not being metered by your MAF...causing you to run lean which is a big no no.

Your check engine light is not from venting to atmosphere...it's from the big ass hole in your intake.

Correct:) fix that before you drive the car. Venting to atmosphere can cause problems and what not but it shouldn't be causing a CEL.
