I've questioned the "need" for strut braces in these cars. My opinion after all these years is that they are more fashion than function. I do run a rear one, but functionally it is used as a mount point for a 4 pt harness, and a camera mount.
 
Well it depends on the design really. The cheap ones tend to be mounted on flat stock with ears that the cross bar attaches to. The boosted fab setup is very stout piece and is chomoly.

+1 on the DC. The one from Boosted looks badass as well.

My best input is to not get the Megan Racing. They look good and are lightweight but in terms of functionality they're useless.

Ya I tend to agree. I only have mine because a friend gave them to me for free. Also I sometimes rally the car on some rough bumpy unpaved roads so extra strength in a 23 yr old strut tower area that had rust fixed in it doesn't hurt.
