if you want 500 bhp then your best bet is to sell it and get you a gst gsx or tsi

Hey how's it going? Nice purchase and good luck on the upgrades! You have a lot of reading to do and should start with the basic maintenance on the car first. I know it sucks to spend what money you got on stuff like spark plugs/wires/timing belt/fluids, but it will save you a lot of money in the long run!

if your looking for 500hp i hope you got some money to spend, especially for a n/t car. best bet is to get a turbo car to begin with. if you dont know what your doing, then your project is going to get pretty expensive to pay a shop. 500hp you need cash, tools, and know what your doing

that sounds like a good solid number to beat your buddies, there are alot of guys on the forums building nt motors and get good hp numbers. You should find a used 4g63t and use that as starting point for a swap just based on our hp goal and the parts availability.

1. Read the Rules.
2. Learn the Rules.
3. Use the rules.
4. Search.
5. Read read read. Plenty of information on these forums. I can not stress that enough. I have learned too much and I am literally on this site everyday. Looking, helping, and trying to get parts on the low. Your best bet would to be talk to the NT guys and see if your goal is realistic. Most people wanting 500 bhp are strictly track cars, sponsored, or have a sweet job to fund the car. 500 ponies means you want to build the motor, get a built tranny, boost it, and boost it HARD with a baller tune. What's your budget besides "$200 a week"? Because that can easily turn into 9 G's before the new year. Set a realistic goal budget wise, and build beyond that. Everyone wants to go faster, be the fastest, and get amazing times. Me personally? I just want a reliable, solid, fun car, that has power at will and can own honda's and mustangs. That's it. 20g turbo is my final goal with all hard pipes and a rape tune. I do not need more than that. That's powerful and reliable.

MAINTENANCE FIRST and follow the upgrade path. Reducing weight can make your car fast. Start by removing things you don't need or do not use. Follow the vfaqs and upgrade path. Let's also upload of pic of this 93 you have, this is not myspace. Also make sure you update and fill out your profile.

And you should learn to use the report post button if there's someone who's not following the rules.

Like others have posted before, it would be better to sell your N/T and get a boosted DSM. Anyways there is a lot of info on this site as how to do swaps. Just make sure it is within your budget. Swapping a 4g63t into your 1.8 n/t might be more expensive then buying a turbo car already. Things you would need for the swap would be the motor, wiring harness, ecu, etc. Good luck with your build.
