Hi
This is my firs DSM, that I bought 2 weeks ago, is a Talon Tsi AWD Automatic.
I was read about the improvements to the Upgrade paths like: drivetrain, turbos, fuel, intake, etc, but I have many doubts and I hope you can help me.
I want to put this parts on the car.
-Custom manifold.
-Custom downpipe
-GM MAF W/Translator
-Bov HKS
-750 cc injectors
-SAFC NEO
-AFPR
-Walbro 255
-IPT End Clutch Kit
-Translab Shift Kit
-Automatic Transmission Boost Controller
-Automatic/Manual Shift Box
-upgrade cooler trans
-FMIC
-Turbonetics T3/T4 trim super 50 stage 2.
-Wideband
-EGT
-Boost gauge
-Oil temp
-Oil press

And my doubts are:

Can I run 7500 rpm with the stock internals, or which is the limit ?

The transmission only rev up to 6500, if i put an auto shift/box can i rev 7500 rpm ?

This setup can support 26 psi of boost?

Welcome to the forums! You have to do a lot of research that's for sure but it's all part of the process of learning. First thing first you should be doing your routine maintenance I.E how many miles are on the car if over 60,000 I would def. replace your timing belt and components to save a head ache down the road. While you are there change the water pump, thermostat, fuel filter, boost leak check, I'm sure you have a lot of them. You can spend $60 and get a balance shaft eliminator kit and get 8-12 horsepower.Replace all of that then focus on performance. Try going with the free mods feel the power get used to it, first thing to buy is a boost gauge and a boost controller. For your tuning solutions don't waste your money on the Apexi NEO just do it right the first time and buy ECMLink or (AEM EMS but this is stand alone managment unless you have access to a shop who can tune your car I find it hard pressed).

Maintenence Maintenence Maintenence. Make sure all that is done before you start trying to build power. Timing belt, water pump, oil and filter change, rear dif fluid, trans fluid, brake flush. Then make sure your suspension is still good to go, and bakes and tires. AFTER you make sure the car is capable of handling the power it has stock, then start working towards making power.

Since you have an auto (as do I), one of the best mods you can do is the blue wire mod. It makes the transmission shift at 100% vein pressure. Shifts are instant. I have mine set on a toggle switch so I can go back and forth between 100% pressure shifts and stock shifts. It's inexpensive and relatively easy to do.

From there just do lots of research and decide for yourself what you think the best path is. I was thinking the other day about what a ruhtard I was when I got my first DSM 8 years ago. First thing I did was buy a brand new Greddy Type S BOV because it sounded cool. So stupid in retrospect. I could have spent that $175 on a # of other things that would have given me a much greater gain than a neat whistling sound.

I'll chance all the belts and the gaskets too in the next week, the car has 132k miles so i need to do this a soon as possible, then i'll work in the free mods :D.
thanks

Well since everyone has touched on maintenance already lets take a look at the mods you want to run:

Instead of the SAFC Neo I would HIGHLY recommend ECMTuning.

Injector wise I would go a bit bigger like 1450cc. I currently run them with a 044 and a walbro and I have more than enough fuel.

T3/T4 is a good sized street turbo, but I would recommend not buying a turbonetics. A lot of people (including myself) have had reliability issues with them. Holsets are cheap and reliable and will net you a great deal of power.

Other than that I would say your list looks pretty good.

BTW, that's a real clean 1g:thumb:

I read about "the blue wire", but I can not find how to do the modification, can you help me with the link.
thanks

what do you think about the holset hx35, I have seen that the turbo map and is very similar to the trim super 50, is no?
or maybe the holset he341.
thanks

The holset is a great street turbo with amazing spool up and I would recommend it over a typical 50 trim.

Aside from your supporting mods I would recommend DSMLink for tuning. Running a shift box will allow you to rev as high as your rev limiter will allow just like a manual transmission. Depending on the turbo and cams you are using you may not see any gains going above 6500RPM.

Take your time before you start buying and do your research! Careful these cars are like a drug and you will be addicted to upgrades before you know it.

just got my first dsm its a 1g and i already started tearing it down, every panel on the inside even the dash was spray painted some kinda shiny black coating, i acquired a 1gb complete parts car thats been sitting for 8 yrs for free from my dads friends land, so im swapping full interior even carpet over to my 90 gsx and then im going to get a motor in it, it has the full awd drivetrain i got the car cheap as hell with everything but motor, i acquired a 7 bolt full running motor and turbo kit from a friend who is parting his car out, id rather drop in a 6 bolt but i will eventually, but for now id like to get the 7 bolt running for starters, i need to know what sensors i need to get this motor running, or will the 2g coil pack transistor tps and what not all work in my 1g? i think not but i dont for sure know so i am asking, i will be dropping the motor in this weekend and go from there as to get it started, im a newb to dsms as far as working on them, but not to the car world, i have tuned many many cars and dsms also, i love ecm link and cant wait to get it for my 1g, but until then id like to get it running with this 7 bolt, and help on the sensor questions would be appreciated!

btw got this 90 eclipse gsx with full awd drivetrain for 350 bucks, a steal! so now im gonna try my hand at the 4g63, i also have a 500whp srt4, but its very annoying spinning 3 gears even on mickey t's on the street, i cant wait to awd launch and put the power down!

Thread on blue wire mod.

http://www.atdsm.com/forum/index.php/topic,84.0.html

Like I said before, I used an on/on toggle switch from radio shack so I can go back and forth from blue wire to regular shifting.

As for tuning solutions, don't just do the whole monkey see monkey do. Research and determine what works best for you. Anyone who knocks a 2G maf, S-AFC and a chip is ignorant. Good friend of mine makes a lot of power using that on his holset setupo and modded cobras have a hard time racing him.

Ecmlink is another well known option that was mentioned above.

There are also other options that have not been mentioned on here.

Jackal/Werewolf (www.ds-map.net)-I have used Jackal and now use WW and had no previous tuning experience before diving into them. I love working with these programs.

Well I read your post but not everyone elses.
Congrats on gettin your first, they are fun cars.
From all that you posted, here is what I have to say.
You have no reason to go to 7500 rpms,,,your asking for
bad things. The stock cams start to lose power after 6000
rpm. That seems the rage,,,let's see how many rpms I can
turn this mitsu,,,never mind if it has 100,000 miles and,and
nevermind the loss of power after 6000 rpm.
So unless your wanting to rebuild your motor in a week,,keep
it at 6000 or less.

I like the idea of the toggle switch to turn the system.
About the tuning, I think I have to read a lot to see which is right for me
thanks
