Hi everyone I just traded my civic hatch for a dsm, so I thought I'd get involved in a community to fall back on if I have trouble, and to also learn as much as I can from. My civic was an eg hatch with a wet nitrous kit, I really liked it, but I decided I wanted to get a better platform and get into the turbo scene. :thumb:
The DSM I got is a 2g talon, wwd(wrong wheel drive (fwd)) not awd :(...
But it seemed to be well worth it, Here is a list of the mods:
Engine/tranny swap with 10k miles (almost 100k on shell)
ACT 2600 6 Puck Clutch
14b turbo
SAFC II
550cc injectors
Full turbo-back exhaust (3in)
Greddy hard piping
Greddy Type-s BOV
Blance shaft delete
Supposed forged internals (no receipts though)
I'm picking up a boost controller tomorrow
And its completely slammed to the ground
With these support mods, how much psi do you guys think I could safely run with the 14b?

The best thing about it has nothing to do with performance: Its the cleanest 2g I've ever seen in person. :sneaky:

With this base I thought I couldn't go wrong, since its all pretty much just safety mods (running stock 8 lbs), and the car is in excellent shape mechanically.

My future plans are to get into the mid 13's and maybe the high 12's while keeping it as a daily driver, so here are my planned modifications. Oh and what do you guys think the car would run now if I jacked it up to 15 psi?
Upgraded turbo (16g or 18g most likely)
Boost controller
Wally fuel pump
Front Mount IC
A good tune
Not stock wheels :ohdamn:

I think this should get me to my goal depending on how much boost I run. Don't you think?

Again, I'm happy to be a DSM'er now, and I'm happy to have this community :D

Last but not least I'll attach pics

Welcome! Looks great! I'd be very surprised if it doesn't already have a Walbro fuel pump based on the other mods you listed. However if it doesn't, get that first.

Also your profile says you have a 1g TSI AWD while the picture is a 2g FWD. Thats going to confuse a lot of people when you post in the threads so I'd recommend fixing that.

That looks like my old one, I miss it.
13s that is easy. Get a boost controller and wideband. 18-20psi should be enough.
You want more?
Get a k&N intake filter, intake pipe. FP turbo manifold, evo3 or punishment racing o2 housing.
Want to keep going?
16g, SMIM, 1g tb, 264 or 272 cams or FP1 or FP2 cams, punishment or SSAC or that other SSAC look alike FMIC.
That looks great slammed.

Yeah sorry about that, I fixed it. When I joined this site like 2 years ago I helped my friend with all of his modding on his 1g, so I just put that as my car in case we had questions back then.
So at least I know a decent amount about the 4g63 already :thumb:

Thanks For the info man. And yeah I like the slammed look too :sneaky:

Duh you come from owning a honDUH..... LOL ROFL

Just kidding man, i like honda's also, heck i even own a s2k at the moment... but thats a sweet car with a nice little list of mods, seems like you made out better than the other guy you traded...

Well my civic was pretty nice with a swap, nice list of mods and a wet kit, but I also included a pretty complete turbo kit and some cash with the trade.

Heres my old civic. Shitty pic but oh well

Wow, welcome!! Another Indy Talon!! You might want ot check out the Indianapolis forum here too.

Gratz on the buy bro and welcome to the world of DSMs. You will find that through all the break downs and bs you will go through with this car, you will just love it more and more.

I like to compare DSMs to a gold digging girlfriend, she's making you broke but you just don't care because the sex is THAT good.

Wow... Hell of an analogy!! ROFL

Why are you only running 8lbs of boost? You should be able to run 12-14 with the 14b without issue considering your mods. I am running 13, and my motor is out of a eclipse GS N/T. Have been for over 8 months without any issues at all.

I'm only running 8 lbs because I dont have a boost controller yet. Hopefully picking one up tomorrow though.

Order a MBC from NXS motorsports, its like 10-15 bucks and the thing works great. Takes a a few days to arrive, but well worth it.

We put one on my friends 2g and it ran great,

My .02 instead of buying an expensive MBC, unless your getting an electronic.

nice car btw.

Glad to see another dsm owner in Indiana...I gotta come down to Indy sometime, seems like there are handfuls of dsms down there!
