Hi everyone I just traded my civic hatch for a dsm, so I thought I'd get involved in a community to fall back on if I have trouble, and to also learn as much as I can from. My civic was an eg hatch with a wet nitrous kit, I really liked it, but I decided I wanted to get a better platform and get into the turbo scene. :thumb:
The DSM I got is a 2g talon, wwd(wrong wheel drive (fwd)) not awd :(...
But it seemed to be well worth it, Here is a list of the mods:
Engine/tranny swap with 10k miles (almost 100k on shell)
ACT 2600 6 Puck Clutch
14b turbo
SAFC II
550cc injectors
Full turbo-back exhaust (3in)
Greddy hard piping
Greddy Type-s BOV
Blance shaft delete
Supposed forged internals (no receipts though)
I'm picking up a boost controller tomorrow
And its completely slammed to the ground
With these support mods, how much psi do you guys think I could safely run with the 14b?

The best thing about it has nothing to do with performance: Its the cleanest 2g I've ever seen in person. :sneaky:

With this base I thought I couldn't go wrong, since its all pretty much just safety mods (running stock 8 lbs), and the car is in excellent shape mechanically.

My future plans are to get into the mid 13's and maybe the high 12's while keeping it as a daily driver, so here are my planned modifications. Oh and what do you guys think the car would run now if I jacked it up to 15 psi?
Upgraded turbo (16g or 18g most likely)
Boost controller
Wally fuel pump
Front Mount IC
A good tune
Not stock wheels :ohdamn:

I think this should get me to my goal depending on how much boost I run. Don't you think?

Again, I'm happy to be a DSM'er now, and I'm happy to have this community :D

Last but not least I'll attach pics

Congrats on the clean new Talon! That's a pretty decent list of mods, too. I can vouch for the NXS MBC, it's all you could ever need; have no idea how companies get away with charging 50 bucks and up for something like that.

Oh, and I hear the AWD swap on a 2G is easy as pie. Just something to think about if the money ever starts trying to burn a hole in your pocket.

Good luck with your car, and welcome (back) to the community!

Welcome to Tuners! Your 2G is very clean and I like it. Have fun modding I think you already got most of the advice you need for the next few months. And don't worry about it not being AWD you can have a blast with the FWD. They are obviously more difficult to launch but once you get rolling they pull harder than an AWD DSM with similar HP because of less drivetrain loss. And the feeling of the car pulling you is fun as well. That's why my daily is a GTI LOL Good luck!

I can get a good look at it, but that intake manifold looks aftermarket to me.

Yeah I started looking into this and it definitely isnt a stock 1g or 2g manifold. It has no stamped writing on it like ecimulti or anything. From some research I'm thinking it may be an evo 3 intake manifold, but I cant be 100% on that.
The previous owner bought it as is and knew very little about dsm's, but said the engine was swapped, so it may be a complete evo 3 swap. (I know for sure the engine was out at some point and hot tanked because the whole block is grease free and shiny and all the gaskets seem to look brand spanking new too, so im thinking he told the truth about it being swapped) Is there any way to tell whether the engine is a stock 7-bolt other than taking the tranny/flywheel off. (im talking about a stamp or code on the block or something to differentiate between 6 and 7 bolt)
Thanks guys:thumb:

Check the oil pan. The 7-bolt has a bulge and the 6-bolt has a recess. There are surely pictures somewhere to show you where to look for it.

Car looks clean!:thumb: Glad you got rid of that POS civic.. :D Just playing. I used to have a civic too.. As my DD.. Welcome to the DSM side!! IT COMES WITH THE BITTER AND THE SWEET!! LOL
