I just bought a MTX-L wideband, I kind of confuse about the wiring. first, red wire, connect to 12v source ( which one is it? ). second, white to headlight power (which one)? third are the yellow and brown wire, it says for data loggers and ecu, where do i connect that if i'm installing my ecu flash and the data logger. the kit came with the cable to connect to the computer/laptop, and again with the yellow and brown where do i hook that up? please help I'm confused, I thought it just plug and play.

Red wire is 12v when car is on you can tap into cig lighter for that one. Yellow and brown are for logging either narrow band or wideband one of the wires would hook into ecu pin. Depending on which bung you use for wideband sensor location would determine which pin you use. I installed mine into the front o2 bung so I just tapped into pin 76 at ecu and run the narrowband sim thru ecmlink. White wire is for dimmer for gauge light so it will get dimmer at night when headlights are on. I just left that one unhooked and gauge isn't that bright at night.

thanks for the reply... but for flashable ecu which wire would i use or do i use both?
and about the logging part on the brown and yellow wire, where do i hook it up?

anyway if I don't have logger and eculink or flashable ecu I would just leave those alone right? I can just use the cable to connect to laptop for logging?

You can look here for the pin number http://www.dsmlink.com/images/forums/2GECUPinout.pdf. It's up to you which o2 sensor you tap into. You can read here for more info about setup, http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/406824-wideband-o2.html Any other ? Just ask bro. If you want to log in a tuning software like link you need to hook up the yellow wire to your o2 sensor pin at ecu. If your not logging no need to use these wires. If you want to use the provided log works, you just use the provided cable and follow directions on how to hook driver up and such with the provided Manuel that came with the Mtxl. If you don't have that disk go to innovates website and you can download from there. Also whatever wires you hook up solder them don't use those crap crimp connectors. This is a very important gauge to have when it comes to upping boost and tuning, you don't want the wires to come loose on you. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tuning-engine-management/406741-wideband-questions.html

ok it all making sense now, for now i'm not gonna hook up the wire to ecu till I get my eponport 2.0 tactrix, and i'll just use the mtx-l provided. but 1 more question how would the ecu read if i pull out the o2 sensor in the front and put my wideband to it? would it throw in cel?

If you pull the front o2 and put the MTX-L in it's place you need to take the brown wire (should be narrowband if I remember mine correctly) and tap it into pin 76 of the ECU. Then you'll get your wideband reading to the gauge like normal, and a narrowband reading to the ECU like the ECU wants to see. That's the way I have mine run, however, I have ECMlink, so I have the yellow wire run to the ECU and the ECU then converts the wideband signal into narrowband for me.

thanks a lot.. your very helpful.. now i can hook this up thanks again...

one last question. if I have the flashable ecu do I use the yellow or brown wire?

If you want to log the wideband you need to run yellow wire to a o2 pin or another open pin. If you are using the wideband sensor in place of a stock o2 sensor and have no way to simulate narrowband then you also need to hook up brown wire to front o2 pin at ecu so you have that signal and ecu doesn't get thrown off.

cool, that means i can hook up both wires yellow and brown to ecu pin 76 for front o2 sensor right?

NEW QUESTION
Okay I'm confused. One said brown to pin 76 and the other said yellow to pin 76.

My scenario I don't want the STOCK front o2 so do I plug both the yellow and brown wire to ecu pin 75 rear o2 AND pin 76 front o2.

Or do I just plug yellow wire to pin 76?
