MPD(MAP) Sensor

alright i know its pretty stupid question but this was my last resort
my car hasnt been able to rev over 4k, either in N and rev-ing wont go past 4k
or even when im driving it wont go past 4k.
i have read on the forum that this can be caused by the map sensor or if you will mpd sensor.
so i took a look and found out that the sensor on top of the throttle body was unplugged.
the only thing is ...... where the hell is the pigtail... i cannot find the connect if my life depended on it.
could it be plugged to somwhere else cause the car does have a standalone ems.
so if anyone could give me ideas where to start looking that be great..

again i know ... stupid question but ima noob when it comes to dsm
use to civics.

The Mdp sensor is on the Intake manifold, not the TB. I dont see how the mdp will cause this problem. As far as i know, its only emissions related.

Only sensors on the TB are the IAC / TPS.

You should check your spark plugs/Maf.

Are you able to build boost? Do you have your emissions lines deleted with the egr still on the car? If so, it is possible that the egr valve is stuck open thus dumping air out the #4 exhaust port. Not sure if this would limit the rpms you would be able to rev to, but my egr valve was stuck open and I wasn't able to build more than 2psi. It's worth checking out because if this is the problem, a block off plate is $15.

Could be something in the ems set to limit rpm to 4k

mpd sensor is on the manifold not tb. The sensor youre probably talking about is the throttle position sensor. That should have a four wire pigtail i believe.

Also you may want to pull the tubing off so you can see inside the throttle boday at the throttle plate and make sure that when the petal is pushed all the way the plate actually opens all the way. Just a thought!
