This just isn't true. I'm currently running 22 psi on a DAILY basis out of my 50 trim. It's not until upwards of 25 psi that you may have to start worrying about the head studs stretching. Even then, there is no exact number they will stretch at. It also isn't very likely your going to turn the boost up just once and have them suddenly stretch on you.
Another thing, the stock mitsu composite headgasket has proven itself time and time again to handle alot of boost. There are several members here that are running 30+ psi with a stock headgasket and ARP head studs. Go talk to diambo4life about that.

You don't have to have injectors but I would recommend a 190lph at least for safe measure. With that you should be able to run 14 psi with no ill effect. You might be able to get 16 psi without knock and running lean but you NEED a logger for that as well. If you want to do 16 psi then you NEED both the logger and the fuel pump. You DO have a boost gauge right? Let us know and glad you are in TN. Do you ever go to a track?
kspharris said:Well if your ever on your way to Nashville shoot me a PM and maybe we can go to the track. Good luck with your car.

kspharris said:It is probably because the boost controller was set at 15 psi and the BOV was letting it only go to 11psi. If it is not knocking then I would leave it alone, but you REALLY should get a logger and a 190 lph.
Spoolio said:If you are going to be upgrading more and more in the future, i would atleast get a walbro 255lph FP, Fuel pressure regulator, and atleast 550-660cc injectors, that will hold you off for a little while till you start boosting 20+
Spoolio said:I am glad your loving your dsm, but dude, i have a 255lph in my car, im planning on doing 660's soon, i drive my car everyday, i used to drive it 70miles a day for months, i mean i dont have all the mods i would like, but look at my profile and see what i have. This is my daily driven car for everything, besides my motorcycle, but i rarelly get into riding it anymore.
I've been pushing 14-16psi daily for awhile now, idk what kinda tuning devices you have or logger, but with good tuning you can drive 17-18psi daily with the correct modifications.

Repost!!! At least you remember to change 16g to 18g.chicagoavenger said:No one can tell you, Here is a tip get some type of logger/widband and turn up the boost untill YOU see it starting to pull timing or get knock etc etc. Each car is differnt some guys do fine at 17psi on a 16g on stock fuel and other knock at 14psi with the same set up. Who knows if you have pisswater 91 like we do or 93. I know we are talking about a 18g but the concept is the same. Each car is different and anyone that tells you that you can run X amount of boost is guessing. Only YOU will be able to tell for sure. I would really get your fuel set up first before anything IMO
