2G MAP Sensor fault

hi,
i have a Mitsubishi Eclipse gs-t 97. recently, my check engine light is on. i took it to midas and they did a diagnostic check and they told me that mine map sensor is the cause of the problem. So i had them change my map sensor but half an hour after the light came back on. they thought probably the map sensor they ordered is defective, so they ordered another map sensor. They changed the first one to the 2nd map sensor and it still has the same problem. They also did multiple diagnostic check and they still get the same code number which is the map sensor code. Please help me if you have encounter this kind of problem before or please give me some advices what should i do.

Your car doent have a MAP sensor, it has a MAF. Go to Autozone and rent a OBDII scanner, it will tell you what is wrong.

It doesn't have a MAP sensor, but it does have an MDP sensor.

also, doesnt autozone check your codes for free? if that truly is the problem, and multiple sensors have been swapped in. then your problem may lie within the circuit or ECU. hope this helps.

I have always had to rent a scanner, but i dont have to pay for the rental tool, I just put it on my account.

The MDP sensor is on top of your intake manifold, its purpose is to verify that the EGR is working correctly so if changing the senor dose not get rid of the CEL you may want to check the rest of the EGR system to see if its working correctly.

Can you call the mechanic and ask them for the specific error code? Then post it here.
