hey yall!!!! I just picked up a 1993 gsx and want to know what i should be looking for Maintenance wise. When i bought it it needed a new alternator belt so im getting all the belts and water pump replaced just to be on the safe side. what els should i be looking at or replacing. Anything helps im super new to the dsm and turbo world all Ive owned is bmw's

thanks

You can do a complete timing belt job, replace the belts, replace the water pump, pop off the oil pan and check to see if there is any play on the rods, replace any hoses that are cracked or are starting to crack etc...

thanks yeah i am getting the timing job done as well. anything thats worth checking right away?

Full timing belt job (balance shaft belt, all tensioner pullies, idler pullies, water pump, etc.), the other accessory belts, air filter, clean the MAF, check turbo for shaft play, check for boost leaks, PCV valve, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, check the coil pack, check out the brakes, check out the tires, oil change, transmission flush, transfer case gear oil, rear diff gear oil, track down and fix any leaks, look over the suspension components, if there are any CEL codes take care of whatever is causing those.

That should keep you busy for awhile.
