EDIT: I've never heard or seen one of these things. It was tucked behind the battery in a plastic bag with no cover :idontknow: Are these things legit?

Bought a parts car and it has this. 3 cords run to the MAF and 3 to the rest throughout the harness to the ECM. I have yet to take the panels off to get to the ECM but there is a USB cable running from the ECM to the open usb port in the passenger seat. Nothing fancy about this cord. I'll post more pics when I get the ECM out.

This is on a 90 Plymouth Laser.

The usb goes into to the OBD port.

Too hot outside. Came in and googled the Chip.

Is it legit? It's old school. Just another box that lies to the ecu. It isn't elegant but yes it does allow some "tuneablity"....sort of. Would I run one? No. Not in this day and age. I had one 20 years ago and it wasn't super new then.

What he said. I also had one (probably still have it in a box of parts in the garage actually) 20 years ago, and used it to run a huge FMIC through a GM MAF and some 680cc injectors on the stock ECU.

ETA: You'll need a Wideband O2 sensor if you're going to try and tune with this thing. It "worked" well enough, but considering the alternatives today, I don't expect to be plugging it back in :D
