1G Losing brake fluid and can’t find it?

If you can’t find a leak anywhere, it’s most likely you master cylinder leaking into the booster. Remove the hose off the booster and use a long zip tie as a dipstick to check if there’s fluid in the bottom of the booster. Curled the zip tie around you finger so it’s directed towards the bottom when inserting into the hole. Don’t use anything sharp as you do not want to puncture the diaphram in the booster.

Sorry. I thought that’s where I posted it. Didn’t want to go to my laptop, used my phone.

I’m removing the booster when I get new master to get the fluid out. Prob use brake cleaner to clean out the booster.

Its more of a how to but i guess here is fine also, i think either or will work fine but a how to will be specific where as here its bunged in with aload of other things so not easy to find.

Make sure you log what you do and pics help people also, but this is good info to have for those who are lost snd dont know whats drinking the fluid

Check all your rubber brake lines and bleeders ,it is also possible for brake lines to leak more so if your in the rust belt .

I'd put money on the master cylinder leaking onto the booster just look for missing paint on the booster , also the plastic caps on top of the master cylinder tend to lose there seal think there held on by one screw .

If you can't find it then look on the fire wall for the splitter valve [cant remember the technical name atm] possible it could leak there although unlikely

If you look at the pic the right master cylinder has one screw that has tubes for the brake reservoir. The caps are plastic with a seal mine didn't seal correctly might be a bad pic had this on my phone
