Yes i have read many of the how to log on 1g's
Car was logged on a labtop before (Has the connection from com-usb adapter)They used it to originally set up base on a maft..
I have tryed almost all the software
emulated palm os with mmcd -Can't get it to hotsync yes i followed the tutorial (tryed windows 98-windows 7
tmologging -Only has com options
tuner pro
even tryed by installing keyspan drivers
 don't know what else to try or change

What i am trying to do .. Labtop windows 7- logging using usb (com-usb connection on/ in car) -hooked up :tease: :hmm:

IMO TunerPro is the easiest to set up for logging, MMCd is convenient because it's made for our cars but getting the emulator to work can be a pain. You said you've read the how-to-log-1g articles, so I'm assuming you saw Steve's article on setting up TunerPro? The only things that come to mind that would cause an issue is either something wrong with the cable, or you don't have the right COM port selected in TunerPro. What cable are you using, is it an ALDL-USB cable or is it a serial with a null-modem adapter hooked in?

Steves no , link please
ALDL-USB cable
did i select the right com port no because it usb port not com

Says all my com ports are in use when i dont have any com ports..
also tryed the steve guild no luck...Hmmm may be a fuse ..What fuse is for the obd1 ..Mine doesn't have the cover on it

Hmm, that's odd.. Well, like I said, COM ports still exist virtually so the computer can route data properly. Since it's a direct ALDL-USB cable have you tried installing ECMTuning's drivers? TBH I can't remember the install process, but I'm pretty sure it set up the COM port(s) for me.. Since I have absolutely no memory of doing that myself LOL

You need FTDI drivers unless your using a ECmlink Cable to log then you can use theirs... .

OP It sounds like you need to SLOWLY re-read my How-to... You Sound VERY Confused and mixing things together that have nothing to do with each other... . for example if you had a palm emulator working you wouldn't be hot-syncing at all.

Any way After, you have the correct drivers for either your Usb to serial adapter you have(what is it exactly? it has to have FTDI chip Set) or use the ones I posted above.

Your Cable should show up in the windows device manager as a COM Port. The drivers emulates a standard PC serial port so that a USB device can communicated with as a standard RS232 device.

You can change it to something different and set it the same in TP RT or just check what port it is set as after in Tuner Pro RT.

BTW I'm not Steve
