Hey people. I got a complete build going on and in the process of cleaning up everything, and getting ready for the motor drop, I kinda got a little carried away with my new wiring/ harness relocation. I've done my research, found some very valuable sites for us 1g guys, but I can't seem to find what these few connections are. This is my first DSM , and I basically stripped it for a build upon purchase. The guy I purchased it from had all type of connections cut and just hanging, so getting accustom to our wiring scheme hasn't been easy for me. Im trying to obviously delete anything I can as it is going to be mainly a track/ weekend car. Any help as to what this stuff is would he great.

This is a plug next to driver head light motor. It's on the fuse box harness . IDK ?????

There are two plugs off the driver side fender..These are for AC correct? Can I delete all the wiring associated with these?

This harness come out the passenger side fender on a separate harness. This is ABS?

This box is on the passenger side inner door frame. Is this ABS related? Can I remove this? I am running no ABS.

These boxes and relays are on the passenger side door frame. What are these for?

I also want to find out what exactly the two connectors going from the fuse box to the main engine harness are for? I am going to have to relocate these lines as well and if I don't need them, it would be easier to leave them out. There is also one wire on my main harness that has no connector on it and I have no idea what it is for. It's black with a white stripe and is a single wire . This is locates up near the brake fluid connector. Does this go to what once once the AC? I can get a picture later.

Sorry for the long post. There isn't much info about 1g wiring out there. Mostly for 2g stuff. The main site I'm using doesn't have any AC stuff on its harness diagram. I wasn't planning on doing all this, but I got a little carried away. Hopefully it will all pay out in the end. Any help would be appreciated.

pic #1 - Not sure, popup light motor?
pic #2 - Yes I believe can be removed near the drivers side kick panel IIRC
pic #3 - Yes you can remove that
pic #4 - Yes abs can remove. Unplugs near the passenger kick panel IIRC
pic #5 - Not sure, part# ?
B/w wire could be EGR or fuel pump wire. Was it just inside the harness?

First, it looks like a 2-wire plug. Possibilities there are plugs for the driver side sidemarker lights (both are green w/ white and black wires) or the fog light connector (red w/ white and black wires). I'm a bit colorblind so the lighting in the picture makes it difficult for me to see what it is.

Second, yes those are both for A/C stuff and can be safely removed if you don't have A/C.

Third, the one on the bottom is the passenger front speed sensor plug for the ABS. The other is for the ABS hydraulic unit/motor and has wiring running to the ABS control unit and one wire running to the dash for the ABS light.

Fourth, that is the ABS control unit and yes it can be removed. On the backside of the bracket (viewing from the picture) you will find the ABS power relay as well.

Fifth, I'm sure you mean driver side door frame. The big gray box is the automatic seat belt control unit. The big black, oddly shaped character on the right (looks like it says MD6059C) is the automatic seat belt motor. The wider of the small black relays is the intermittent wiper relay for the rear wiper. The thinner small black relay is the room lamp/dome light relay.

Black w/ white wire is likely for the A/C. Can you locate the stacked plug for purge control solenoid? It should be accompanied with a red wire, black w/ white on top (nearest the plug release) and red on bottom. Or you can try measuring the diameter of the wire as the A/C wire is 0.85mm in diameter while the wire for the purge control solenoid is 0.5mm. BTW, EGR control valve has a black w/ yellow wire and a red wire; fuel pressure solenoid has a white wire and a red wire. I imagine it will be the A/C wire.

The plugs running from the fuse box to the main engine harness do not actually run directly to the fuse box unless I severely misunderstand your description. They run underneath the fuse box and connect the main engine control harness with the engine compartment wiring harness (headlights, washer motor, condenser fan, the connectors in picture #2, etc.) ultimately running to the dash panel wiring harness on the driver side.

Hopefully that's what your after.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks guys. Like I said I'm a little green with these cars. I have ahead of me with these wires. I wanted to make sure eveything was going to look good, got the itch, and here I am. That first connector I asked about is not a light connector. I have accounted for all lights. This looks like it would plug into something near the power steering res. It's right next to the driver head light motor plug. Same length also. This is what i'm up against.

Here is another shot of the black wire with white stripe. Looks to be up in the coil pack area. I know the AC was in that area, so I'm leaning towards that.

Lastly, I wasnt sure if these connected back to the fuse box somehow. After you explained it to me, I think I have a better idea now. It looks like the wires are running to the small line of fuses on the (+) carrying the MPI and two other fuses I can't think of. So your saying this runs back to the ECU/interior harness? I guess I will find out once I dig into the harness more tonite.

Im still trying to work out a game plan on what to eliminate, what to move inside, and what can stay. The main problem with this fuse harness is a lot of grounds are joined together and wires go evey which way. I guess patience is needed here.

Okay, first one then perhaps for the windshield wiper washer motor (black and black w/ white wires). That's the only other 2-pin connector in that area. I overlooked it the first time around.

I'm also still betting on the black w/ white wire being for the A/C. :thumb:

I'm saying the harness that connects underneath the fuse box loops around the front of the car to the driver side and meets the dash panel harness through the fire wall. Basically what is shown in your most recent post's first picture. As you said, you'll figure it out first hand; all I'm doing is reading diagrams.

Looking at the rest of the pics, I've just got to say that I'm glad it's you doing this and not me. :p
